  • Specs look good, any idea on the battery capacity? Can you replace the memory card, or insert an extra one? (can't tell from specs - is "TF card slot" a memory card?).

I've seen some similar to this on eBay: impressive specs listed, but then they have some problem that's not listed - 30mins battery life or something - that you wouldn't even think to check (because it's so much worse than the worst you'd expect).

    • TF slot is probably TransFlash, which is the same as microSD.

Like you, my too-good-to-be-true meter is off the scale, but that is a pretty good price…

  • cpu specs?

  • +1
    • no 3G
    • spec didn't mention about Flash support
    • I can tell you that even if you can get flash running, it won't run well enough for it to be usable.

  • Multiple touch?
    Mon resolution?

  • Anyone know if this will play Angry Birds smoothly?

  • "Built-in rechargeable Li-ion Battery" - fixed and not removable?

  • Very very good price… i wonder what the catch is :)

    • I'd venture screen responsiveness…that's where they usually cut the cost with this kind of gadget. Otherwise, agreed; under $70 shipped is a decent price indeed!

  • 2600 mAH battery
    Search "ePad" on Ebay

  • They accept PayPal so if there's any dramas you should be able to get a refund.

I'm tempted to get one of these for my mother, who is addicted to Bejeweled. She can play it anywhere then. ;)

  • Its an ok tablet, but keep in mind its a budget tablet and depending on screen resolution, CPU speed and memory, you may or may not be able to do what you want to do.

Also it should run Angry Birds, I've run it on a china android phone before that was slower then this.

You should also edit your deal as free postage is only available in the US.

    Still cheap though.

Save your money and buy the $99 Optus MyTab ZTE V9. You will have heaps of support from Whirpool Forums and if you have any problems, bring it back to Optus or Dick Smith. Buying computers or tablets from overseas is a lot of headache. It's not like you are saving hundreds of dollars iether($69.66 vs. $99).

    • the mytab is pretty much sold out everywhere so its pretty hard to find so i think ur betta off saving the time that you would spend looking for one and just buy this one. just my opinion though.

  • What would this be like for reading mangas?

  • I notice the wifi doesn't list "N".

    • +2

well its cheap for a reason y'know =P

  • Is 256MB enough for Android 2.2? Others have 512MB.

  • Fast ethernet??
I cant see anything that looks like an ethernet socket on the pics.

    • I think it has some sort of converter thingy as pictured here

      • That looks like a "share your USB device on the LAN" type of gizmo, due to the two USB host ports. If they supply something to connect the tablet to a LAN, the tablet would have to have USB OTG (On The Go) and an adaptor with a single USB device port. I think.

  • yeah the cheaper ones come with a dongle, i had one, cheap and nasty, really flimsy, but then again this is about $30 less than what i paid for quite a while back!
ps if the cpu is a VIA type, avoid! it's really slow even when they overclock it, i think it's more about low power consumption than performance

  • I think without the 3g it makes the price believable for me, since the Mytab was $99 with 3G this without 3G for $69 is about right. An ozbargainer mentioned these devices sell in HK for $29AUD, so even at $69 they are making heaps of profit

    • I think what you need to know is that the RAM is only 256 MB. It is too low for apps these days. Trust me. You need 512MB at least for Android apps that come out in 2010-2011. Less than that, then you will most likely have less multitasking because of processes being killed in the background for too often.

  • Only $6 for EMS? Niceee.

  • This honeycomb mod works. It's a number 8 device but you'll have to register to dl.
