  • CAUTION - If you travel with 25 Kg luggage and if you have NOT selected that option when booking your flight, then you have to pay $20 per sector for 15 Kg of luggage, PLUS 10 x 13 = $130 per sector overweight luggage.

Total excess luggage for return trip (2 sectors) is $300. But fare is only $29 each way!

Maybe try to keep luggage under 15 Kg!

    (Apologies for previous incorrect info.)

  • Although this is the case, neubauer, but I think they made themselves very clear when you're purchasing your ticket.

It specifically says "Excluding Luggage Allowance" under the "Total Cost of Flight" so you can't miss it. And in the next page in between where you enter your name and your contact information, there is a clear remainder (in red) of the luggage allowance and an option to purchase excess luggage.

I personally don't have a problem with airlines, in particular budget airlines, charging for excess luggage or "excess luggage" as long as they made themselves clear. And I think in this case Tiger has done a good job.

Just think of it this way, even if you add all the extras (meal, luggage, entertainment), the total price is still heaps cheaper than Qantas, etc.

  • This is hardly a promotion. They regularly have $39.90 promotion. After they introduced the $10 for checked-in luggage return, they've come up withe the $29.90 sale, which means it's totally the same.

It is just giving people lower price to fly but without checked-in luggage.

Nevertheless, it is still a promotion, certainly not a bargain. Therefore, no + nor - from me.
