Even if the images given on CD are only 2-3MP each, you can always make up a collage yourself to print on a 1m x 50cm canvas. That's what I did with the last canvas deal, turned out great!
Sorry if this is legit, but these photography offers are almost always a scam involving some kind of hard-sell or guilt tactic to buy massively overpriced prints.
Exactly. Centennial Park, Botanic Gardens or more? So a guy with camera will go out to a public place and take photos of you. And blame issues on poor lighting? Will he have public liability insurance? Those places require licenses for commercial photography - will he pay for those? Or when the ranger comes will he pretend he's taking pics of friends?
As a photographer, I can say his photos are poor. Poorly lit, blurred, relying solely on photoshop effects. Every photo has some wierd color effect on it. Buy anyone some expensive DSLR and lens and you can get something similar.
Frankly, if you're not paying about $80/hr or more for your photographer, then you'll get better results finding an amateur with experience who will do it for free. Because anyone who charges $30/hr either has no self respect, or is an amateur with little experience who wants to 'make it big' now cuz his mum said his photos were good.
If you are not getting high res photos you may not be getting anything. You probably can't print 20k files. it should say what size the photos are.
