There was a touch screen model - but I suspect this isn't it. "Cleaning" isn't "refurbishing" BTW, so you may get a few more bites if you were to maybe say exactly what has been "refurbished"…

    • yea would be good to find the touch screen model

    • +1

Disagree, I worked at an HP refurbishing facility, all we did was clean the insides and outside, and test all components if all components are working then we packed it and went to sales. If not, then we replaced the faulty parts and tested again. Really what else needs to be done if it’s all working?

  • No full HD, 100Mbit ethernet…

    • +5

Why do you need 100mbit Ethernet when we can't even get more than 100mb in this country

      • +4

        Local file transfers?
Or if ever we migrate to a second or first world country with better internet infrastructure?

      • +3

You have obviously never had to transfer large amounts of data across a local network before. 100 megabits per second = 12.5 megabytes per second, vs 1 gigabit per second = 125 megabytes per second. Although these figures are theoretical maximums the difference in speed and hence time is enormous. Personally I would never purchase a laptop with 10/100 Ethernet.

Oh FFS. It's $320. Go and complain to a laptop thats over $600 with a regular HD screen, but not 320 bucks.

      • -2

It's used, the battery is gone, storage tiny, and the CPU is dual core and 4 generations behind. But if you think I'm wrong, watch the vote counter.

Funny that you haven't even upvoted the deal yourself…

Fair enough. I don't care for the deal, but I am critical of people making complaints about things like screen res when they forget the price is appropriate. However, your comment alone was "no full hd and 100mbit ethernet" as if they were the only things to consider. Maybe you could've added on your above comment onto your original one, then I would've seen your perspective better.

I'll defend your comment Make it so … Latitude is meant to be Dell's business grade series - and having a low resolution of 1366x768 in this day and age is ridiculous, especially on a range designed for business use. Same with the 100Mbit ethernet - although most would probably use wifi for general use, an ethernet connection is typically used for large file transfers, or when speed and reliability matters… and again, it's 2019 - 100Mbit was the standard well over a decade ago, so having a 100Mbit port makes no sense - and wouldn't cost Dell any less to manufacture.

Releasing models like these, with low specs not suitable for business use (maybe back in the early 2000's, but not in 2019), does nothing other than tarnish the "Latitude" brand.

These laptops aren't released in 2019. It's 5th gen which was 4 years ago. Still not a good look. But considering its price point and how slow the industry takes to move cheaper laptops onto FHD doesn't surprise me.

      • It's not 100mbit ethernet, that's just a mistake in the seller's listing.

  • +5

ACCC really needs to come up with requirements for the use of the word refurbished.

  • It means you get a warranty

  • +3

The prices on the gen 6 and gen 7 laptops are pretty ordinary, given that they're refurbs, may not have user-replaceable batteries, and better spec'd new Lenovos go on sale for not much more than that.

  • +6

Don't you mean. You bought them in bulk for $50 each and reset Windows and now selling for $300

    • Bought 5 Dell Latitude 7440 Gen 4 Laptops Core i7-4600/16GB/512Gb SSD $401.60 already 1 is faulty I emailed them telling them to make sure everything was working too. So much for '' Fully tested and 100% operational, 100% Dust Free.''
