Anyone know if this device can actually show you a Google map and indicate leave times for getting to a destination at a certain time? Or is it only via audio? I know the larger google unit with displey can do this but wondered if the Lenovo can also do so.
Yes it can
I don't think it can show maps on screen. It can tell you an estimate of a commute, like a google home mini. The screen functionality is limited compared to a nest hub or full Lenovo Smart Display.
Can this be used as an alarm clock that plays music through Google Play Music?
I'm pretty sure it can.
Yes, that is the primary use for it
For future people: You can do this, you have to use the Google Assistant commands "Set a music alarm for X" and then specify what you want played.
