Batteries are not for Pro, home users could do a lot better with OzitoX

I chose my Bosch blue because it has higher torque than all the others I looked at
      i.e., 50% more than Ozito 18V.

I really want one of the blue bosche cordless screwdrivers but they appear to have been counterfeited as all over the China sellers , very difficult to determine if you will get a genuine product.

    Soft case….. ah no thanks

    • Cases are the first thing that goes in the bin.

You obviously don't ever require to lug it around - Handy to have a durable hard case for that.

        • We have our tools in $5 flexible tub from Bunnings.

          • @whooah1979: Sounds like fun lugging a tub full of tools when you just needed the drill parts to do a small job.

            • @MuddyClear: We have too many cordless tools to keep them in separate cases. Storing them in two or three tubs or crates is more efficient.

              • @whooah1979: Pros and cons I guess. Though throwing the case in the bin at the first instance might suit you it won’t suit many others, including myself.

                • @MuddyClear: If a power tool case doesn't have a real hinge (tabs with holes on each case half and a pin) they soon break.

    • I used to think that too till somebody pointed out that if you want to add a few extra things to your drill case, like a set of bits, then it fits much better in a soft case.

This is okay if you don’t have a drill and don’t foresee anything more than light duty.

Batteries are very old tech compared to other brands and even Bosch have new Green series batteries. Battery size is pretty useless for anything beyond light work.

  • Check ALDI webiste, the ALDI brush less one is on the day. I would rather go with that one brush less and 200V, sounds better.

  • I have these green bosch and they are poorly built. The handle cracked after I dropped it half a meter and the soon after the motor burnt out. Don't waste your money on these. Either go ozito or Aldi workforce or go for trade stuff like milwaukee, bosch blue or makita. I have Milwaukee brushless drill and it outperforms my ozito corded drill 650W.

AEG and Dewalt would sit between these and they are kinda hit and miss these days.

  • Question - how does one compare the power/performance specs of a cordless battery drill compared to a plug in drill?

ie. I have the old version of this (700w) - what's comparable in cordless?

    • Use a torque test.
