  • So you get the points if you're an existing customer as well??

    • yes, if you have not held these specific cards in the last 12 months

      • what if u already ahve a black card but not amex

  • "Westpac Altitude Black 120k Qantas/Altitude/Virgin points ($250 Mastercard, $0 AmEx) + $50 Virgin/Qantas Fee existing customers"

Confusing title. Not sure you can get 120,000 Qantas points for $0 Amex + $50 Virgin/Qantas Fee existing customers (whatever that last bit means).

    • existing westpac customers can get the fee waived on the amex in the altitude black bundle.

Okay, I think I get it now. You need to get both the Mastercard ($250) as well as the Amex ($0) for 80K points and 40K points, respectively, on $4000 and $3000 spends (respectively) during the first 3 months.

  • If I hold the master, can I get the Amex for the 40k bonus?

  • How long do you have to spend the limit?

    • 90 days for both cards (just updated the post to clarify)

  • So we have to pay 250+50 =300 fees plus spend 7k in 90days to that the 120k qantas point ?

  • any tricks for a current non-customer to get the deal?

open a westpac choice transaction account, cancel it after you open the credit card account

      • easy. thanks!

EDIT: just realised it's actually not 120k points. hmm…

        • it is 120,000 points
          80,000 on the mastercard
          40,000 on the amex

its a bundle of those 2 credit cards

The amex card and transactions are all done through Amex
You can take advantage of Amex offers

    Also

Card Members who currently hold or who have previously held any other American Express Westpac Altitude Card product issued by American Express Australia Limited in the preceding 18 month period are ineligible for this offer.

The bonus Altitude Points, Qantas Points or Velocity Points will be added to your points balance within 12 weeks once you meet the eligible spend criteria. Existing Westpac customers who currently hold an Earth Platinum, Earth Platinum Plus, Earth Black, Altitude Platinum or Altitude Black credit card, or who have held one in the last 12 months, are not eligible for this offer.

    • Interesting, I rang Amex about this. They said there are no terms and conditions on the wait period of the AMEX card. However, you will be subject to Westpac's conditions for the bundle (12 months), and I dont think there is any way to get only the Amex card in this bundle?

  • I believe you will have 2 credit checks, one for each credit card!

    Edit nvm already commented

  • I have a Westpac issued Amex but closed my Westpac black card over 12 months ago, would I still be eligible for the 80k points if I re-apply for only the Westpac black?

  • Any way to get that $250 mastercard fee waived for first year?

    • If you have a home loan package you could possibly

  • Better off on ANZ's 100k q pts for 4k spend +$225AF

  • maybe, close my Westpac black card

  • So I got this deal the other day. Just wondering has anyone got a cheaper work around to get the 2 comp. Passes to the qantas club lounge. Says you have to register which I done and the other terms is that you… (below para) which I didn't read in detail my fault but AMEX was easy enough to get access to their 2 tickets didn't think it would be that hard through Westpac. Thought the $50 signup fee for QFF would have counted towards this but not so.
