[VIC] Free Fried Chicken 8/8 & 9/8 @ Gami Chicken (Glen Waverley)

220

The Korean-style fried-chicken chain is giving away 1000 free pieces this week. Korean-style fried chicken chain Gami, which means means “beautiful taste” in Korean, opened in Melbourne in 2006. It makes some of the best fried chicken in town using a recipe of 17 different herbs and spices, and has outposts in Melbourne's CBD, Box Hill, St Kilda, Fitzroy, and in Chippendale in Sydney.

Now it's adding a store at The Glen Shopping Centre in Glen Waverley to the list, and to celebrate the new store is handing out free fried chicken.

On Thursday August 8 and Friday August 9, staff will give away 250 boneless fried-chicken pieces at 12pm and again at 4.30pm. Be quick.

Even if I wasn't at work I'm not sure it's work the hassle of parking in glen just for a piece of chicken.

  • General pricing is a little expensive but it's great taste!

How is this different to KFC?

    • +1

      REALLY

      • Yes really. I mean fried chicken is fried chicken. There's only one way to do it. The spices might vary but ultimately what else could be different?

        • Different spice recipe?

        • Exactly. Just like all pizzas are the same and all burgers are the same.

          • @cakesyy: Well, burgers can be fried or grilled, for one. And then you've got different grades of meat. There aren't grades of chicken like there are meat, and we're comparing fried vs fried here.

        • it uses 12 secret herbs & spices

        • …and steak is just heated up beef.

          Salads are just raw vegetables.

        • The spices might vary

So are you just playing dumb?

Anyway, aside from the "plain" flavour which tastes quite different to KFC, you can also get them coated in different sauces (though I don't know if they gave you a choice in this promo). Also the outside is far crispier than KFC.

Here are some more styles of fried chicken if you're interested.

KFC is soft and falls off, like the flesh of a boiled zombie

Gami is firm and wrinkled, like the pruned face of a very very old woman

    Only one chicken per person.

    • Is the line very long as well? Not worth the quee?
