Or just use the green bin…

    • Might as well throw them in the street if you're going to use things incorrectly

      • What do you do with your used nappies? recycle them?

  • +1

In comparison to normal nappy bags, the refills for this bin are horrendously expensive. We also found they only lasted a couple of weeks if we were lucky..

  • +2

Use the pack of 600 bags from big w. It's like $5. It would be like 50x cheaper.

Either way you don't need to bag nappies unless pooed in. But these things probably get rank with that many poos (when we had a sangenic one we used it for wee nappies too).

We no longer own the sangenic. The concept is terrible and a rip off.

    • +4

I think the concept is actually pretty good but the price is indeed a rip off.
If these things becomes more common you may be able to buy just the bags at dirty cheap cost from Chinese manufacturers just like bulk pack ink/toners.
Now we just put another bin outside our door and the pooped ones go in there. When someone goes out we just dump it directly in the red bin. Seems to be the most environmentally friendly (and cheapskate) option.

These things are great on paper and terrible in real life. Nappy bags much easier

  • We just use the Coles $2 bags.. like 250 bags for $2?

  • I find that using a normal small plastic bin lined with normal bags to be sufficient for number ones and then we use those cheap boxes of nappy bags for number twos to keep the smell contained. The idea of buying a dedicated nappy bin which uses proprietary bags seems like a recipe to get ripped off long term but I guess I can see how it does offer some benefit.

  • I strongly recommend the ubbi diaper pail combined with putting the nappies in a nappy bag.

I have a 4 month old and the pail has not skipped a beat. And my bathroom (where it’s located) never smells of poop. Plus you can use any generic bag, I use glad medium sized bags.

    • Poos only stink when you're at solids stage. The change is unimaginable. Something to look forward to :)

  • I have an ubbi, haven't smelt anything so far but then again bun is still at the newborn stage. Price for it is higher than Sangenic/TT but I love how you can use any bags with it. All my bag hoarding for years put to good use 😊

As 1st time dad, I decided to get one. bought this deal. even if i only use it for a month, and won't need it after i will be very happy. Money buys convenience.

    • As 1st time dad, I decided to get one.

      When you're a 2nd time dad, you'll realise it was a waste of money…

      • +3

the 2nd kid or the nappy bin?

        • +1

          both…lol

    • Don't bother until on solids. Nappies barely smell on breastmilk. When on solids… Whoa.

  • +1

I think these things are quite good. Buy the DIY refills off ebay and they are less than half the price per cassette.

    • The stench gets through most of the cheap refills like pootube (so i heard on ozb)
