What's your budget on a Motherboard?
100?
How about MSI B360-F Pro?
bought one yesterday for $200, not very pissed but slightly kicking myself
Looking to replace my 10yo i7. I don't game anymore. Just photoshop and lightroom, tiny little bit of video editing.
Would this be a good option? No budget per se, so I could get a 9700 or 9900, but dont want to get one if the difference will be minimal.
Not interested in overclocking and tinkering like crazy. But I enjoy building myself.
If you're only doing productivity work I'd say go with AMD!
It would be more cost effective for you to look at the cheaper, AMD Ryzen 2600 (6C/12T), deal that was recently posted. Considering that you are mainly using it for productivity, where Ryzen excels. The I5 9400F will technically be superseded with 6 cores and 6 threads. The socket is also end of life, based on recent posts on the web, and will not provide you with an upgrade path. In comparison AMD will at least provide you with an upgrade path to Ryzen 2, if needed, with significant improvements in productivity over the current gen Intel CPUs.
Bought mine for $240 in March and thought it was a good price.
what is a good motherboard to get with this on a budget?
