LG V30+ $399 @ JB Hi-Fi
The cheapest I have seen for this handset so far.
Bought for $432 from Mobileciti, have used for nearly 5 months, can't complain.

Late to the party again. Just received this deal in a JB HiFi email, thought to check if it had been posted.
At this price it must be drawing users to Android.
Will this phone get Android pie?
Yes, they've started rolling it out. I haven't received it yet though.
Do people with small hands find the phone too wide? I used a samsung S8. Now all other 6" phones feel too large on in my hand.
The menu/interface can be shrunk to suit your needs. See YouTube reviews.
I moved from the S8 to this, and yes it was noticeably more of an awkward stretch for the thumb to reach the opposite edge of the screen. But its fine now after about a month of V30 use.
I have used this phone for 3 days now. Thin and light, needs a phone case. Battery life is awesome I get 2 days with full charge, everything feels snappy except for scrolling. I wish they wouldn't have integrated the power button with fingerprint sensor.. Overall a very good phone for $400. How is everyone else going with their new V30+?
Actually liking this phone very much. Problem is I can't connect to my MacBook Pro via USB, and LG Bridge is a POS, doesn't work.
EDIT: Found an app on the AppStore called Phone Manager for Android and it works great.
The pie update has started to roll out. I have read on XDA forums that it has issues with performance and battery drain. I am not sure I will update my device to pie as I am quiet happy with what I have now.
Mine's been in the box for over a week. I don't want to use it without a screen protector. Made the mistake of buying a few from China, which will of course take weeks. Went to 4-5 physical stores to buy one sooner and none stocked LG protectors! Local supplier one finally arriving tomorrow.
Managed to score 2 of these today. As my 2 phones were damaged while on a trip, but still unsure.
How do you guys compare this to aXiaomi 9t. (I'm a big xiaomi fan)
Day two of using the phone. No impacts of any kind and the rear camera glass is now shattered. Google shows this to be a common issue. Anybody else have this happen yet? I'm going to ask for a swap.
How did it happen?
I'm sure LG knows.

There is enough occurrences out there to know it's a common issue.

Amazon is doing a roaring trade on parts and as expected LG denies there is a problem. I'd hate to have paid the $1100 launch price!
I wonder what is causing it. I guess I will be checking my camera lens every day from now on.
Could it be possible that the battery's heat is causing it? Do you have significant screen on time?
Anyone received the Pie update yet?
Not as yet, no. Kinda hesitant upgrading to Pie at the moment, happy with Oreo the way it is.
Yeah, feeling the same way. The feedback I've read on the Pie update is not great. Have you tried any of the gcam apk's? Or are you happy with the LG camera software.
Have to be honest I haven't tried the camera yet. Been hammering the QuadDAC with my Sony 1000xM3 headphones and it is sublime :-)
@Red October: But but. Nobody needs a headphone jack. Bluetooth is where its at. What a bunch of jokers those lot are.
I received my update the second day after I started using it actually. But haven't updated it due to all the issues I've read online about it. As for the camera glass cracking issues I've bought a cheap spigen type cover off Amazon for like 7 dollars and have used the phone on and off for hours without any heating or cracking issues for the past week and a half or so.
Did anyone get pie update? This article says Australia got pie update but I still don't have any pie update
https://www.mylgphones.com/australia-lg-v30-h930ds-gets-andr…
Mine isn't showing the OTA update yet.
I downloaded the LG windows software. It shows me the pie update over there.
I have updated to pie just took 20 mins, I didn't feel any lag in any of my apps except for the settings app. I still have to observe battery life and ram management. So far I haven't had any issues hopefully it stays that way.
It kept all your data right? Like all apps etc when you updated?
No data was deleted. I have been using it for 2 days now with no issues at all. Battery life for me has reduced by 10-20% but I feel over time it may get better.
@Iluvfreebies: Awesome, thanks for the response.
Yep, just got the PIE update!! WOO!!
After downloading the Pie update I'm getting a notification that says "Invalid software package"…
Either google and check if there is a simple solution to the problem or otherwise go to JB HIFI and ask them fix it or get a replacement phone.
Pie seems to be killing my RAM, using around 67% . :-(
Reboot
I have. No diff. Might have to do a factory reset and see if there's any change.
Did you end up trying factory reset?
Just a heads up with Android, unused RAM is wasted ram with the way the system works so unless you are maxing out 100% usage it's doing it's job as it will release memory as needed for your current usage needs and then use it up again for system resources etc afterwards.
If you google "Android unused RAM is wasted ram" you should get some articles with more details if interested.
I’m feeling my phone battery drain too quickly. if I leave the phone overnight with 4g or wifi on, its still 82-84 % in the morning, with no wifi or 4g, the phone still 90-92% without using at all. my phone only install 4 apps
Since Android Pie update on my V30+ (Aus) yesterday, I'm now one happy camper. Battery life no different.
Notable fixes for my device nailed (YMMV):
Do not disturb now works!
DTMF tones now work on Boost Mobile via wifi calling!!
Android Auto now behaving with my car head unit.
I've shunned my new Samsung A50 to go back to the V30+ as my daily driver. It's that good!!
Love reconnecting with the rear camera and superior audio.
Update was a bit glitchy - lost my home page configuration and could not restore that. Minor irritation!
My V30+ died after 1.5 weeks.
No drops, etc, just pulled it out of my pocket and the screen was dead. Tried the 2 finger restart, no joy. Used 3 different chargers and ti was still dead, so took it back to JB for a swap.
New one seems to be working OK (been a week or so).
I see this case: LG V30 MNML Case is US$18.09 with shipping using the coupon AADL2 (which I found [here])(https://www.androidauthority.com/google-pixel-3a-and-mnml-ca…)
Has anyone used this case?
For those considering getting a USB-c to Audio adaptor - I bought one from Jaycar which has a DAC built in but it will only work if USB Debug is turned off. I also bought an el-cheapo from eBay which totally didn't work at all.
But wouldn't you just use the headphone jack on this phone?
Yo dawg. I hear you like your headphone jack. So i headphone jack your usb c also eventhough you already have a headphone jack.

Are the SAR levels on this good / safe? A bit confusing looking at the US levels compared to EU especially when comparing to Xiaomi 4x or Samsung A50 https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/comparison/8bd71582f…
