  • Cracking price, solid drop on Black Friday level.

Been tossing up whether to keep current 2 x 27” 4K or get this!

    • +1

I got one myself few months ago…

Definitely recommend this over 2 separate screens.

(Obviously 27inch 4k will look better.. but most of the time it won’t matter)

Just beware that brightness is not super bright. I’m comparing my macbook with 1000nits vs this 350nits.

But… for what it is.. pricing… screen real estate…

      • 350 is ok for desktop monitors. Nothing at this price is going to match a high end laptop panel.

        • yeah, totally agree.

when i was planning to get the monitor, the plan was to put them side by side, but upon getting it…

the screen was big enough that there wasn't a need for it.

      • I believe its nits are 300

      • I thought about this about 18 months ago when I had 2x 32" 4K screens - and I eventually went with 2x 43" Dell 4K screens and i haven't looked back. So much easier to work on, watch movies if I want to and given how much time I spend in front of the computer I love it. Not for everyone - but for me it was the right choice

        • Interesting! Can you share your monitor positioning please, are they placed side by side horizontally in the same plane, at an angle… or are they stack up vertically. Do you use them in landscape or portrait mode? If I'm not mistaken width of 43" Dell is 95cm+ which for two of them make a horizontal span of almost two meters. I struggled using single 42" due to a neck pain.

@dr: I have them next to each other (side by side). Admittedly I have 2 desks next to each other in the study, but if I moved the NVR that is on the right of one of the desks I could fit both screens on a single desk.

            https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/25592/118570/layout.jp…

I just measured and my eyes are 80cm - 1m away from the screens (based on how I'm sitting on my chair) and very comfortable for viewing.

            I have both screens set at 4K (3840 x 2160) and 150% scale/magnification

            • @pn09: what a wiring mess you have under the table

              • @c64: True - I have accepted it.

The missus doesn't look under the desk any more :-)

                • @pn09: I had the same issue and I've had great success with this (2-3 should be sufficient), I also put the power boards there. No cable touches the ground now. Also helps alot with the dust bunnies.

                  https://www.amazon.com.au/Management-Organize-Detachable-Com…

                  My setup:
                  1.5 meter wide desk
3 cable trays, 3 power boards - daisy chained. Last one goes to the wall.
                  4 PCs:
                  - 1 floor standing home PC (Displayport) - USB for KB/Mouse (wirelss dongle to KVM)
                  - 1 Mac Mini - HDMI to KVM - US - USB for KB/Mouse (wirelss dongle to KVM)
                  - 1 Raspberry Pi 400 - HDMI to KVM - USB for KB/Mouse (wirelss dongle to KVM)
                  - One HP work laptop - HDMI to KVM - USB for KB/Mouse (wirelss dongle to KVM)
                  1 gaming console (PS4)

                  • 1 four port KVM
                  • 1 8 port GB ethernet switch

Wife was begrudgingly impressed. (aka Spock eyebrow raised and Meh).

        • 2 x 43”!!!! LOL.

          So good!

      • With my MacBook which is the personal computer I get it. I spend 95% of my time on windows for work tho, and it’s OS based scaling and window management make 2x4K panels really shine.

      • What smart monitor means?

Also was one of the 43" monitor similar to 2x 27 inch monitor?

    • you will get 2x the pixels using dual monitor

and you also need to sit further away the larger the screen

      • How do we determine how far to sit away btw?

  • Not sure the difference, also 4K but only $549

      VA vs IPS.

    • +2

      Officeworks selling this for $497

    • I've got the 32" and I like it. Tizen isn't perfect, but gets the job done. Note I primarily use this as a bedroom TV, so I don't really care about VA vs IPS in this regard.

  • +4

60Hz only though… but good for productivity or TV/streaming I guess

    • +1

I play games on this. Mainly Dota. No issues. Haven’t tried shooting/racing…

    • Fine for the consoles. Lack of HDR brightness is more of a factor for them though.

  • +1

I picked one of these up from Centrecom about a year ago for $647. It's a really solid unit and super handy being able to get rid of the dock for WFH and have a cleaner desk. I use it as a media streamer for after hours and it's been fantastic.

    • did you find that the colour seems to bleed out a bit when brightness is on the higher side?

or any thoughts on the colour profile?

      • @revelationx I don't do colour accurate work but haven't noticed colour bleed when the brightness is up, the room is a loungeroom with a fair amount of natural light throughout the day. I would say the colour profile is reasonably natural based off some photos I have viewed, I know it has a reasonable DCI percentage for an IPS larger screen. All in all I rate it and would say it is better than the Samsung equivalent smart monitor I viewed.

The 32" is also at the same price :-(
43" is too big for my desk

    • +3

      Need a new desk.

      • +3

Then that new desk will be too big for my house.
Waiting for half price discount on domain.com.

        • Need a bigger house

    • Could i please get the link to the 32"?

      • Sorry, couldn't find it anymore. It was $599

        • No worries

  • +4

43" is too large for a non-curved monitor that is sitting at and arm's (and a half) length away from you. Been there done that many years ago, switched back to two 27" 4K monitors (set along the arch at an angle)

    • I’ve got the itch for change from my 2x27” but it’s a productivity powerhouse IMO, esp on windows.

I am thinking 2x32” curved will be where I land.

      • Just curious why not 2x34 inch curved?

  • good price, I would jump on this if it was refresh rate was 120

  • -1

    No HDR?

  • Does anybody know if these or other newer myview monitors have standard vesa mount? Or do you have to use their stand?

  • This, or pay double for C4? For productivity and gaming.

    • -1

This for productivity, C4 for gaming. Not sure what the state of burn-in mitigation in the latest LGs but there is an existing stigma against OLEDs when you're spending workdays in spreadsheets or code editor.

    • C4. I have a C2 42" going 2 years now, absolutely beautiful thing. I couldn't imagine going back to a 60Hz IPS like it's the 1800s.

      • Use for productivity at all?

        • +1

Yes a lot. When I WFH I also like connecting my work laptop to it and using it for everything.

          • @wizko: Sounds random but I liken this back to when iPhone first came out, I read a lot of hype online but decided to go with a Nokia E63. After about a year I realised my terrible mistake in buying into old tech. That's what IPS feels like to me now, but I still see people online saying you can't use OLED for regular work, not sure if they're correct or they're like Nokia fans when iPhone came out haha.

            • +1

@bleeder: Lol I'd wager some people hate on OLED because they can't afford it so they do the mental gymnastics to justify themselves.

I have over 6K+ hours on mine with Windows with the taskbar always showing, still see no burn in thus far.

OLED has come a long way and it's definitively the superior technology with zero downsides at this point. If you have the money, go for it. I can never go back to non-OLED for any of my devices now, I have been spoilt.

  • What is refresh rate?

    • 60hz
