Good price if you need the jug, otherwise it's still cheaper to buy the filters from the Brita online store - $99 for a 12 pack, free shipping over $100 so add an extra single for $15 = $114 less 20% off newsletter subscription coupon = $91.20 for 13 filters delivered = $7.06/ea. If you buy two lots of the 12 pack instead it comes down as low as $6.60/ea.

Also 7% cashrewards ontop of that!

      • For Big W? How?

    • +10

      no one needs the jug….

everyone needs the plastic tip that keeps breaking off

      • +8

…mine doesnt break off it gets stuck and then you end spilling water over your counter!

        • Especially if you leave the jug in the fridge, stuck tip every time.

      • That happened to me with this jug. The funnel got stuck when I tried to change the cartridge for the first time, and I shook it to try and dislodge it. Then the jug itself fell to the ground and cracked. And there went my $50+ jug (which included 3 filters). It broke after 4 weeks.

        It's a good jug otherwise.

      • Just the tip!

You can get 6 for $37.33 in the deal I just posted

Works out at just $6.33 each.

$6.14/ea after cashback if you buy 2x 12 packs from Brita locally… split 'em with a mate if that's too many.

      • Seems like various eBay sellers are selling them for around $36 for 6; some give cheaper prices if buying 3x12. Combine with sitewide % discounts (when they come around), and it seems cheaper.

        • I think those selling them at that price are not genuine. You can tell by the reviews and the fact most are listed as unbranded and the word genuine is ommitted from the start of the description.

          • @gooddealmate: Thanks for the info. The ones I'm looking at are branded as Brita. I'm not sure the lack of "genuine" in the title is enough to say that it isn't?

For example this is $35.87 when buying 3, seller has decent ratings and over 300 have been sold.
(this does seem more than what was being charged a few weeks back - it used to be around $36 for one, and $33 for 3)

Have there been any reports of counterfeit Brita filters? I tried searching, but couldn't find anything.

@Yumi: Still likely to be fake, Hong Kong seller and you can tell by the first sentence in the description.

Fits all BRITA MAXTRA jug systems and BRITA partner products.

              • @gooddealmate: Oh okay, thanks. I'm not sure how that sentence indicates a fake, but fair enough.

                • @Yumi: You wouldn't need to put that sentence in there if it wasn't genuine imo.

The title also says it's for Brita not it is a Brita.

                  • @gooddealmate: I thought it was just for clarifying compatibility (e.g. you can't fit a Maxtra filter to a Classic jug). First sentence on the Brita store page listing:

Compatible with all BRITA jugs (Classic range excluded)

In other words, the official page says basically the same thing.

@Yumi: Up to you, but I wouldn't risk it, look at the ones that are similar pricing and check the reviews. Many reviews are saying the quality is not the same as genuine ones or they're fake etc, there's a bad review for the one you posted too.

Spend a little extra and be sure you're getting the real deal.

            • @Yumi: I don't know why anyone suggests that it's a fake product from HK seller.
              Item location: Sydney, Australia
              Description says: Model Maxtra
              About this product:
              Product Identifiers: BRAND Brita
Photos also show genuine product in the original packaging.
Then below in the detailed product description it says: Package: 6 Brita Maxtra plus filters

If you receive something different, you can demand a refund.

Personally I would only purchase something like this from a genuine distribution channel - saving a few bucks is not worth worrying about my health.

      Welcome2019

Looks like a generic discount code to me

  • Does anyone know if/where you can get generic filters at a lower price?

    • +2

Target have target branded filters that fit, they're a little tight but they work

    • +1

      Those are not Brita

      • whoops, comment was for the the post above @Dungeon Master

  • After awhile it is better to replace jug too

    • -3

      Why? I'm interested to know.

    • I wouldn't respond to Daabido, he'll attack you if you do.

I understand the reason behind it. It really comes down to personal choice. If you want to replace, replace. If not, don't :)

There is no pressing argument either way.

      • -5

It was just a joke and I said "Fair enough" afterwards. It was hardly an attack, but if you felt that way, I apologise. You're the one who got pinged for a personal attack.

  • I just got the Maxtra Jug from the Brita website along with 2 filters delivered for $27.20

Use code Welcome2019 to get from $34 to $27.20 delivered

    • Why you did not get from big w instead?

      • I live in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. No Big W here unless I make a 30 min drive.

    • +1

Ah but the above is for 4 filters which sounds a better deal

  • Pay with Woolworths (Wish) e-gift card and save another 5%. Will cost $33.25

Groupon has a different looking model, but same size, filters and price: https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/brita-water-australia-55

    • Do you have to pull off the entire top lid to fill the water?
I'm looking for a new jug but the design seems a little more well thought out, it has a small panel on a hinge that you can open with your thumb.

  • Thanks, got one from southyarra(Vic), there were around dozen more on the shelf.

  • Used these for so many years but got sick of throwing those plastic refills in the bin. Went out and bought a stoneware water container that uses a stone filter. A filter that you replace once a year. Just made more sense in the long run.

  • Thanks OP. The paper catalogue is misleading. It showed 7 filters.
