egiftcards

Officially a benefit for Sunsuper members (not to be confused with Suncorp), sunsuper.redeemyourgiftcard.com.au portal has a decent spread of discount gift cards. Sign in to portal with code egiftcards before purchasing. You will need to reenter this code whenever you return to the site.

This site does payments via bank transfer, so those wary may want to look elsewhere. In my experience placing/paying for an order at midday on a workday, I received the GC via email by around 4pm later that day. They use a NAB account, YMMV.

With many GCs you can pick any whole dollar value, while others there are only discrete values available. With the $1 admin fee, it makes most cents to purchase the largest value card that you can reasonably use.

Some discounts are same or higher elsewhere.
eg Suncorp Benefits is 5% for Coles & Woolies, 8% for SCA,… Free to join with free account & no fees for eGift cards.

Check the discounted egift cards Wiki
But this site has a long list of stores.

Quite a few negative comments in last deal regarding site, need to pay by bank transfer, and the $1 email 'delivery' fee

    • do I have to open an Suncorp Bank account to buy those discount egift card?

      • +2

Yes - free to open online, or a suncorp associated company - insurance, super, etc. See previous deals.
I mainly use it for 5% discount @Coles & was 7% off Woolies in a Deal.

      • Yep, but you don't have to activate it ;)

I've got one I signed up for, never did the id verification and use Suncorp rewards

        • You can choose not to activate it but won't they automatically close the account in 60 days if you dont?

          • @G77: About a year so far and still using rewards

            • @SBOB: Awesome, thanks for that I might do it as well then :)

    • +2

      Plus instant delivery

I've done plenty of gift card buys in a shop while walking to the counter or while online doing the checkout.

      • +1

I've also done it at self checkout when balance wasn't enough to cover purchase😉

Using bank transfers & waiting for emailed eGift card can be slow - as in this deal

    • +1 for suncorp

  • +4

Cash rewards already does 5 percent discount on Woolies gift cards.

      • +7

did you miss the other 25 retailers on the list?

          • +3

@obavatar: where? cash rewards only have Woolworths gc.

            • -3

@[Deactivated]: Hi chickenface, what are you talking about? These are all the stores/places you get the discounts: https://www.cashrewards.com.au/stores

              • @obavatar: Don't you understand?
This is a deal for discount gift cards.

That's very different to possible Cashback much later - if everything goes right & you meet the conditions.

Regular complaints about missing payouts! Tracking may show expected Cashback, but you can never rely on it as it is solely up to the merchant's decision.

Cashback is not a discount on a purchase like discount eGift Cards, it is a probable but not certain payment much later!

As already correctly pointed out - No gift cards available from CashRewards for those other retailers, just Woolies.

With gift cards we also can get a discount in stores. That's generally not possible with Cashback sites.

The discount is available almost straight away with egift cards, without waiting up to months hoping we get it!

And we may occasionally pay with discounted eGift Cards & still get Cashback, although that is now rare. But a chance at discount + Cashback is worth a try!

This offer is not yet added to the discount gift cards wiki.

                • -4

@INFIDEL: LOL! I think we're just arguing semantics here with the same discount with giftcards vs cash back.
I could list a bunch of reasons why this is worse like the $1 fee etc but I'd obviously be wasting my time!
As if you just argued the semantics of gift card vs cash back! What a waste of your time! As well as my own stupid fault for reading it!

                  • +2

@obavatar: You can use a giftcards AND get cashback in the same transaction. It's not semantics, there's a difference and you're just arguing for the sake of it.

                  • @obavatar:

I could list a bunch of reasons why this is worse like the $1 fee etc but I'd obviously be wasting my time!

I said it for you in the first comment of this deal - why this is not a great deal, suggested the wiki for other discount gift card options, but said this does offer more retailers gift cards.

Discounts by definition, occur at time of payment - "reducing the price" paid.
Cashback payments are paid much later to your Cashback account. They don't directly reduce the price paid. They may not even be paid. It is not wise to count on Cashback in calculating price😉
                    There is a big difference!

with the same discount with giftcards vs cash back

Discounts on eGift Cards may be higher than Cashback.
Cashback may also be available to use with some discount eGift Cards. So only using Cashback misses this bonus. I've benefited many times in the past👍

Cashback is never a discount, but an incentive payment - paid out long after the purchase.

The incentive is a payment made to Cashback services to get customers to their business (similar to paying for advertising), as long as we abide by conditions set by the merchant.
Only part of that incentive is passed on to us.

If you want to own up to being stupid…😱

You certainly aren't interested in learning from the experience of others.

                  • @obavatar:

same discount with giftcards vs cash back

No. Yesterday I spent $50 in Coles (part of FlyBuys promotion of $50 credit for 4 x $50 shops).
I save $2.50 off each $50 shop with discounted eGift Cards from free Suncorp Benefits = $10 total in a spend of $200, then receive $50 credit👍

If using Cashback sites it would be $0.

Of course I could shop at Woolies with discount eGift Cards from Cashback sites, but Woolies offers haven't been as good as Coles lately.

Besides Suncorp Benefits had 7% off Woolies eGift cards recently - better than Cashback sites. Bought plenty😉

Arguing same discount with giftcards vs cash back is obviously wrong, as I have shown.

Both Cashback & discount eGift Cards have their uses. Sometimes together!

Seems crazy to not want to benefit from easy free discounts! But I wouldn't use this deal.

                  • +1

@obavatar: Another advantage of using discount eGift Cards (in store) is often staff don't know / care about how to refund when purchase paid by gift card.

Few days ago, took back over $20 of a $30 Woolies shop paid with @7% discount from Suncorp Benefits. (Half price light bulbs - wasn't sure which would suit, intending to return the rest.)

Refund was given as usual in cash - made a $1.50 profit from using discount eGift Card, and still kept points & $4 worth of bonus points from $30 spend promotion! Not a bad return on less than $10 of groceries😀

As that shop was @Woolies, Cashback sites would have returned a smaller profit. But at Coles it would have been no profit as they don't offer Coles gift cards.

Another reason I like buying discount eGift Cards, but not any more from CR & SB👍

Macquarie Bank have this with a free transaction account.

    https://www.macquarie.com/au/personal/campaigns/cash/marketp…

    • Just wondering compare to Suncorp bank, which one is better?

      • Compare other discount services with the wiki & consider the downside of $1 fee & payment by bank transfer, rather than CC.
This offer has more retailers with discounts.

        You can join BOTH😉

    • Sunsuper has poor returns on your super annuation? Have you got some tips for ones you feel are better please?

      • -1

AustralianSuper. High returns. I consider the best as it has members direct. For instance, you can buy any ASX 300 shares your like. So if you bought DCN a few weeks ago you would have made 50% profit on your investment.

Also very easy to change your portfolio within the app. Good mix, returns shown on a monthly basis and good historic graphs.

Good live chat for customer service.

Look at industry funds. Host plus is also very good.

        • +2

So if you bought DCN a few weeks ago you would have made 50% profit on your investment

Trading like that using your super is a good way to end up with no super

Could find other trades that could have wiped out just as much over the last week's/months

But feel free to post those tips before they actually rise ;)

        • You're right thanks. Hostplus seem the best when you use Canstar's option for aggregating all the funds they offer.
I also would like to invest in specific index funds. Specific personal stock picks for my super is too risky for me :)
          Thank you

          • @obavatar: Old mate with no shoes suggested the same super I think.

            • @hearitfromhorse: Hey mate, I don't get it sorry. Are you saying Korban Dallas or a metaphor for a Homeless person maybe suggested Hostplus?
I have no affiliation with any of them. Apart from the fact my super is with Sunsuper and I was interested in the comment and after doing more research Hostplus look very good that's all :)

    • Sunsuper is in the top 10 super providers over the long term. Given there are dozens or even hundreds of super providers, I don’t think you can say they have poor returns.

  • if you have an AGL account, check out aglrewards

Google change CTP. From memory suncorp and Alliance do this. Change it every year. Back and forth.

          https://www.productreview.com.au/i/incentives/coles_20

          • @Korban Dallas: Done. Nice easy $30 cheers

            • -2

@obavatar: I am negging cause they have been giving crap returns for years, crap service and high fees.

Don't be fooled. This is just an incentive for them to make more money off their members.

              • -1

@Korban Dallas: Re Sunsuper? Yeah I agree. They were good and have been under performing so it's time to do a check up and research others etc. (As I'm currently with Sunsuper).

          • @Korban Dallas: Wouldn't be a good deal if you end up paying more than $30 by changing to Suncorp or Alliance.

            • -1

@Jono05: What drugs are you on. It's regulated. All CTP is the same price. Check the website. At least in QLD anyway.

    • I have purchased many Coles egiftcards and never had a problem I use Westpac Masterard for payment. Maybe check the email address you used is correct and check junk mail?

    • I usually make about 1 order per month. Email arrives in the next day or so usually. This week I ordered on Monday, and haven’t received anything yet.

      • Updating this: I emailed the address in the op and the gift card came minutes later.

        • I'm glad yours came through at least (; v ;)

  • I bought a Myer giftcard through this site a few weeks ago and still haven't received it. I've emailed the contact email listed in another post and no reply yet. I should have tried to chase it up sooner but I was overseas :-/ a bit disappointed.

good luck with it. Let us know what went wrong so we can learn.

    • Any updates on this?

      • Still no reply to my email. I've sent it again today with a request for read receipt.

        • This is concerning…

          • @Hendot: He responded asking for the email I used for the order on 20/12, I replied with the email but no further response yet….. hoping it's because of the Christmas week period……

            • @starvingartist: Did he respond u yet ? , my transaction normally came through over night. The longest time I need to wait is around 1 days but it eventually came. Just bought 1 ebay gift card. come instant after 20 mins. I'm surprised.

              • @nguyentran: not yet :-( i re-sent my reply on the 27th as well but yeah no reply yet. I'm glad everyone else is getting theirs tho lol

                  • @starvingartist: do u create an account when u bought it. I created it so I can track the progress of the order.

                    • @nguyentran: I've just checked and my order has been cancelled…. yet I haven't received a refund or an email response to tell me what the heck is going on. I am really annoyed and sad about this 😞 I feel so foolish. I'm going to email again to ask what's going on but I'm not positive about any kind of reply…

                      • @starvingartist: Received and email back on Monday offering a refund or the giftcard. I've asked for the refund and provided my bank details, so now I'm just waiting…. again….

                        • @starvingartist: update: I FINALLY got a refund. Their representative was polite at all stages of contact, but the delays in responding were just. crazy. Potentially coincidentally, replies usually cane after I posted about this here. I won't be taking this risk next time.

  • Coles gift cards no longer available here. What is the next best option?

  • +1

    Successful transaction

Just a short testimonial. I'm not associated with them.

TL;DR: Bought $534 Virgin Australia giftcard for $508. Excellent service, fast delivery after initial messaging.

I was a bit concerned with the late/non delivery and slow refunds of some ozbargain members so I emailed them to make sure they could deliver promptly as I had airline tickets to buy which would rise in price quickly if not bought in a certain time-frame.

I emailed Redeem Your Gift Cards and despite an initial slow reply/response of 3 business days later messages were down to a few hours between messages so I decided to proceed.

After bank transfer (and immediately emailing the admin and scott email address as requested) it took less then 10 minutes to receive the gift card. However as I said before I had given them many messages up to 3 days beforehand that I was going to purchase. What the OP said about 4 hour response time is probably more accurate.

  • +1

I am usually quite sceptical, if it wasn’t for Ozbargain I would probably not risk it. I suppose if the website was a scam, it would have been banned from here. Anyway, greed trumped in my decision making and since I needed quite a fair amount as I’m buying new furniture at Hardley Normal,I thought I’d give it a try.

I needed $3000 of gift cards, I emailed the contact info just to see if it was legit or if it was answering at all. We exchanged few emails (about an hour to get an answer) and i made the transfer of $2781 last evening about 15:30 and received my cards this morning.

The whole direct transfer thing made me uncomfortable as there are no buyer protection if anything goes wrong and the key element in making that transfer is trust. I looked through the Ozbargain and saw redeemyourgiftcard was present for a few years and there was no comments about not getting the cards (besides some delays). Anyway, it worked out just fine and I will surely use the service a few more times

  • No longer works?

    • Able to login the site using above code. Didn't go through purchase flow though.

      • I'll try again. I logged in, have purchased in the past using that code however it kept coming up as invalid code.

I tried again using the link in this post and code and it all worked :) Weird.

  • no more coles or coles group gift cards any more. same as RACQ

Not a Sunsuper member, so unsure if I’d be able to purchase any of these gift cards. I’m interested in getting Harvey Norman Gift Cards, so if anyone can recommend where to purchase with a discount between 5-7%, it’s be greatly appreciated. TIA.

    • i purchased $1700 worth today and had no problem at all. Firstly I emailed to check how long it would take to recieve via email and then went ahead and purchased. All done and emailed to me within 30 mins. The only password working is SHOPPER.

  • +1

Can confirm this is legit I just purchased a bunch of HN Gift Cards - Scott was very responsive :)

  • Purchased a HN gift card on Friday night (which came through), and 3 more early on Saturday morning. For those 3, I've been emailed a link which doesn't work - it just takes me to a page saying they'll be provided within 24 hours (it's been almost 72). No response to contact either through the website or to Scott via the email address in this thread.

Just wanted to warn people to be prudent when using this, especially if you need the gift cards quickly.

    • keep us upto date in regards to this please

      • +2

        Finally, a happy ending.

I didn't get any email responses, but after getting fed up I gave Scott a call who said there'd been an issue on HNs end over the weekend, and it was getting fixed. Within an hour my giftcards were all working, and I got my item while still on sale.

Other than the lack of email communication (which does annoy me in this day and age), and general dodginess of the website/bank transfer, the offer is legit. But I'm not sure I'd recommend it to friends either.

To be fair, I also emailed HN, who haven't replied either, so maybe I just should have waited longer.

It's also worth mentioning that I think I read that you can only use 4 HN giftcards on one order (which is what I used). Worth double checking if wanting to use more.

  • So I got the email saying order completed, which has a redeem link on it but when i click on it, it says on it's way.
Is it usually like this? How long does it take for giftcard to show up?

  • Hi there, Does it work for Harvey Norman Gift Cards currently? I need 2x$500 Thanks!

    • +1

Yes 7.25% plus $1 admin fee.

    • Done, It was a bit of delay but works at the end :D

      • Usually emailing with receipt speeds the process.

Another happy customer - got $3.8k of Harvey Norman gift cards. The website wouldn't let me purchase more than 5 when I clicked the "+" button - but a quick sms using the contact above and apparently one can just replace the number manually and it'll work. Gift cards became available within 24 hours of bank transfer.

  • It gives me "Error - incorrect promo code!", anyone has the same issue?

  • Anyone purchased giftcards from them recently? It's been more than two days since I made the transfer still receive nothing yet.

    • Have you followed up with email?

And if no response followed up with SMS after anothrr day?

When do you need it by?

      • Thanks for getting back to me! Have emailed them (both the admin email and the email provided above), no response yet. Will try sms today. I don't need the giftcards very urgently but it's my first time buying from them, no response is concerning…

      • I received the giftcards minutes after sms was sent…Okay, now we know sms is the way to go.
