I take it this is the competing design to the Oculus Quest? Is there an advantage this has over the other?

  this looks bad in comparison, the Quest has proper remotes allowing you to play games which require room mapping… this looks like a way overpriced Oculus Go (which is $300AUD FYI, same remote style)

    Not quite, the headset has 6DoF tracking still, but the controller doesn’t. Quest is definitely still better though.

        @camshandez: Maybe because Valve went for their own headset and no longer collaborating with HTC for VR headsets for this weird product?

        @camshandez: HTC is big in enterprise VR, and I assume this product is priced based on what enterprise customers would be willing to pay. Most of the demos online appear to be enterprise focused (employee training etc).
