    Price?

    Edit: Nevermind. Was updated

Wouldn't recommend max RAM in dual channel is only 8GB.

    • what you mean by this?

      • +1

Each slot can only hold a max of 4GB sticks. So the maximum ram this laptop can have (in terms of upgrading) is 8GB (which is fine for light use)

    • On my gaming PC I currently have the game Slay the Spire open in background, 2 YouTube videos and 4 other tabs in Firefox, as well as Steam, Origin, Blizzard, GOG clients and a bunch of other background crap running. I am using 5.2 GB of RAM with 10.8GB free. What could you possibly be doing on a non-gaming laptop that would need more than 8GB. If you were running something that needed more than 8GB the CPU would bottleneck you anyways too.

  • us power adapter / charger

I have one of these laptops. It's known as the Yoga 530 in other regions outside the US. The RAM, SSD and Wifi Card are easily replaceable. Current setup is 16GB with a better Wifi card installed.

    • how? the ram can be upgraded?

    • +2

what is wrong with the current wifi?
from read it is 2x2 AC

      • +3

        Linux

      • +3

Yes it's Realtek 2x2 AC card. I just changed it to a higher spec Intel WIFI card to get an even more reliable connection. I already had this card so it did not cost me anything.

    • nevermind, yes upgradeable.

amazon review said ram is not upgradeable???
This laptop has amazingly good build quality, and is very snappy to use. The achiles heel is that it only has 6 GB of RAM available to the OS, since it is capped at 8 GB non upgradeable, and 2 GB are dedicated to the integrated graphics. 8 GB would be OK if fully usable, but 6 GB is getting a bit tight these days due to the horrible new trend of desktop apps written in Javascript.

      • so is the ram upgrade-able or not?

        your comment is unclear.

        • upgrade-able. but not sure how many slots are free. better wait for shellshocked to confirm

          • @CyberMurning: do you have amazon prime on any account right now?

wonder what is the normal price for this laptop?

The surface 3 seems like a better way to use the laptop/tablet
then bending this since it would still be heavy to hold compared to a surface pro 3

          • +2

@CyberMurning: Looks like the US version on Amazon maybe slightly different from other regions. The below comment is a review from Amazon US.

"This laptop performs great but is initially starved for RAM if you plan on running any virts or similarly intensive workload. The RAM is upgrade-able but only has 1 upgrade-able slot (4GB is soldered onto motherboard for other slot, probably due to GPU?). I attached pictures to prove that the Lenovo representatives are flat out lying to customers about this."

The Ryzen based version I have has two RAM slots compared to reviewers picture.

    • How's the battery life in real world useage?

      • I get about 7hrs of usage out of it, when set to better battery in Windows. Mainly Office and Web Browsing.

        • is this heavy to use as a tablet compared to a normal tablet?
like do you feel the weigh when using it?

what is wrong that you needed to upgrade the wifi?

          • @pinkybrain: It is heaver to use than a dedicated tablet due to the built in keyboard. Just the upload and download speed was slower than using a Intel WiFi card vs the Realtek one that this comes with.

            • @shellshocked: would you say the weight of this is makes it feel not comfortable to use as a tablet for very long?

do you know how heavy this is compared to something like an ipad with a case etc?

would you say getting a surface pro be better for a dual tablet/laptop?

  • -4

Great price. However I rather get Surface Pro 3 i5/i7 256G 8G RAM at a fraction of the price.

    • Link to such a deal? looking to purchase such a laptop

      • +2

Just sold out @Kogan. Catch is still selling those but more expensive. I would recommend eBay for a used one. Just recently bought for $450 with typecover.

        • +1

any other ebay example of your unit/spec?

        • -1

I presume it old version with shitty dual core and non upgradable everything. Where it put together with glue.

    • +1

      why?

      and link for that deal?

  • +1

Darn. Now regretting my purchase during the Lenovo Cashrewards deal :-/

  • +1

The included Active Pen lets you draw or take notes directly on the screen, anywhere you go

    nice

  • Is there any cashback for this?

    • check the cashback button up there. 4.5% only i think?

  • +1

Tempting, but warranty support will be a pain to deal with.

  • can you claim trs on this

    • If the receipt/invoice shows that you were charged GST, then I don't see why not.

  • Is there any downside to buying directly from the US store?

  • Ticks all my boxes for a light duty lappy under $700.

Decent quad-core, 14" fhd, nvme ssd, touch, and backlit keyboard.

  • anyone knows whats the solution to US power adpater? Please explain to me, thanks in advance

    • +1

It's universal voltage (110/240), will just need a basic adapter.

I usually just bend the pins.

  • Is the charger US or AU?

    • +1

      See my reply above.

  • Seems like a lot of people complain about 2-3hr real world battery usage (from youtube comments). Anyone here have the same experience?

  • Anyone received the laptop? Thoughts?
