  I'm shopping around for curtains and am shocked at the prices I'm seeing. I plan on installing my own curtain tracks and just need the actual curtains to hang up on them. What do people recommend as a place to get them from? The annoying part is that most places cap standard sizes at 250cm drop, but my windows require a 270cm drop… Such a scam that there is an 'industry standard' that isn't reflective of reality and forces people down a path of more expensive custom sizes

    Hi Cretin,

    REady made curtains are very cheap and quality is not the same as custom made.
    We really focus on custom made curtains to be honest and have very small limited range of ready made curtains as you can see everywhere in the industry. In terms of standard sizes there is no standard sizes in homes anymore as you would almost say 610, 850, 900, 1200 wide windows for example but the standard sizes in homes is not what you see all the time. We don't manufacture the ready made curtains so I couldn't really say why they do not provide 2700mm high or 3m high curtains. In most cases are only eyelet curtains which we only really do 95% of the time are Wave Fold curtains. I have also looked at different suppliers and can not find any longer curtains for you and most had 2100mm high ones as well.

  I've used these guys on two occasions (bought PVC venetians) and had a good experience. Both times everything arrived quickly and I had no issues installing (I'm too tight to pay for the install…Ozbargainer in me).

  In terms of quality, I'd say these are significantly better than the really cheap ones (e.g. sold by spotlight). With 25% off the cost is about as low as I could find for custom blinds.

  My only gripe is that their website images of the different colours/textures are next to useless - too small and low res to see what's what. I'd suggest getting the sampler if you really want to know what colour you are getting.
