Oof paid 661 from mobiciti last sale

  • Just FYI, I don't think it's Aussie stock but there are sellers offering the LG G7, which has equivalent specs to the V40 except for the OLED screen, available for approx $400aud.

Edit- might be the 4gb ram 64gb storage version, but the same 845 cpu and has quad DAC.

Just letting people know in case they don't have their heart set on Aussie stock.

    Well done OP.

    • B-b-but OLED

      • Lel, but in a phone… B b b burnin.

    • I assume you're talking about the "LG G7 One" not the "LG G7 ThinQ" (which is higher spec).

      Compare on GSMArena

      • Nup g7 thinq

I swear there was one for 398 the other day but it's disappeared.

Edit- here it is for 398aud, Grey only, locked to T-Mobile though (would that matter in Australia? I thought t mobile was uk only…)

          These are single sim model.

          • @[Deactivated]: Good to know. Another notable difference to add to CCS post below.

Wouldn't put me off for the saving though, the ram would be the difference I'd most expect to tip the scales for people towards the V40.

Re the v30+, maybe some people would prefer the larger storage, I'd probably go for the slightly faster chip in the G7, but each to theirs.

@ozbjunkie: Seeing I posted G7 deal 3 times in the past, noticed its price has gone up from the lowest at $506.

While V40 has been dropping slowly but steadily. V20 did reach $400 2 years back.

              • @[Deactivated]: I don't get why you're saying the G7 price has gone up. Now that it is 415 for unlocked.

Or are you just saying, aside from the few sellers offering probable grey imports, the Aus stock is more expensive now (around 600aud iirc).

                • @ozbjunkie: Yes, sorry, that's what I meant, local seller. and the $400 ones are single sim, different spec of G7.

                  • @[Deactivated]: Yep, fair enough.

I see that most of the 600aud ones are G7+ so 6gb ram and 128gb storage… But that wouldn't be enough to convince me to spend the extra cash.

I'm on a Nokia 8 at the moment and 4gb with 835 CPU will do for now.

Wish I had that quad DAC though.

    • Camera sensors on the V40 are bigger and are marginally better, and V40 also has a telephoto camera if people want that. Screen is also bigger on the V40.

      • For an extra $250 if that's worth it to any prospective buyers, I certainly can't argue.

For me, wouldn't be worth it.

        But well spotted.

        • I went from V30 to V40. 6GB vs 4GB as well. Better processor, better cameras, bigger screen were all worth it for me.

    • Which sellers are selling the G7 for that price?

        And

here it is for 398aud, Grey only, locked to T-Mobile though (would that matter in Australia? I thought t mobile was uk only…)

Yes it would matter, you’d need a US T-Mobile sim .

          • @PVA: Ahh ok. So international carrier lock is a thing. I don't know why I was under the impression carrier locking was national.

First link is unlocked though, and price difference is only 16aud.

          • @PVA: Seller confirmed via PM that the locked version will work in Australia.

Whether true or not, get it in writing and it would be grounds for a refund if anyone wants to go for a 398aud G7 thinq.

  • The LG V30+ in this deal is the H930DS.

    • +2

What is the significance of that?

      • Dual sim, but it's the standard model for Australia AFAIK

  • Same price as before and a ripper of a phone.

  • V30+ has been trending lower. I'm with previous commenters - happy to wait for sub $400.

    • True…Bought it for $432 from this deal in January. It never went below that though.

Very happy with it so far and pretty good value for money in my opinion.

    • I dont know if it will ever reach that. Manufacturers tend to pull old models completely rather than letting the price drop too far
