  • Good deal, you will eventually get the cashback, but horrible bank to deal with.

    • Why are they horrible?

      • They might not give you the cashback. Took me 4 phone calls to get it after 80 days passed. Also lied about when I will get it. To their credit, I got the annual fee back.

        • …perhaps to preclude you from complaining
          to the Financial Ombudsman…?

          • @IVI: I would have if I didn't get the cashback. Alas, I did.

Funnily enough I only JUST got my cashback from the last offer.
Took over 3 months and raised a complaint so I got $200 in visa gift cards and my first year waived.
    Not bad

    • How come in Visa gift card not cashback to the cc account?

      • My mate works at Westpac and he was able to escalate the issue. I could've gotten the $141 cashback but he gave me the option of the $200 visa cards and first year waived

With the above feedback, I'm going to give this deal a miss.

  • I got rejected for my online application instantly. Does anyone know what criteria are used to judge the applications and what are the parameters they focus on the most? I felt like I was suitable for a credit card like this one and have no outstanding debts. Thanks in advance.

    • Are you parttime/fulltime or a casual?

      • full-time (contractor)

        • i think banks prefer someone on payroll, permanent, full time. just normal person with full time job. contractor, tbh, difficult.

        • Yep they want a secured and steady income. If you still want to get it.
You need to call up Westpac in regards to the CC and send in your last statements to verify steady income.

Telstra CANCELLED my Order - without notice, until yesterday -
      for the 24-month, $29 / mon deal for Mobile-Data + a new-old
iPad, that they'd earlier ACCEPTED, ie. claiming some sort of
      credit glitch.

They couldn't be bothered to Notify my or try to clarify the
      issue…

      Telstra!

I've disliked them since I learned that they were charging $29 / mon
      for a mere 500 MB / mon, in the 28.8 / 56.7 Kb/Sec Internet+dial-up
      modem days…

While teaching, some of my students were getting huge bills for a
month's usage (eg over $1,200.00), punished for trusting Telstra!

      • Ummm…wrong deal perhaps?

  • I'm biting the bullet yo!

  • got 200 back and cancel immediately to avoid the annual fee, yeap

    • Is that on July statement? Mine hasn't show up when I checked this morning (the statement). June statement was on the 16th. Weird.

      • No idea, I contacted the support online in June to ask about the date for cashback (reply will happen in August), then few days later in July 200 appeared in my account

      • From my experience it depends on how many transactions you did.
I found spending > $400 in 1 transaction will get me the cashback in the next statement right away. Same with CBA.

  • Got the 200. Use the app to make a call very easy no need to go through Id verification, and the guy just straight processed my 200. Total time spent on the phone, 3 mins.

But weird no transaction details for this 200. No entry on activity.

  • " and packaged cards are not eligible for this offer."

Any idea what does the above mean? Is it referring to customers with a mortgage package or something like that bundled with credit card?

    • Yes mortgage package offset account

      • Thanks. Any idea if employees can avail this? There's no card fee for employees.

        • Any idea if employees are eligible for this?

  • Westpac tryna pull a shifty. Called last week and this week to get the cashback, they told me they couldn't find the promo on their system. WTF. Did anyone screenshot the promo? I tried https://archive.org/ but can't see the promo.
