  • What if it's > 25km?

    • Reverts to normal k/m rate and time rate.

  • Is there any mention in the email that these codes are only valid for a certain date period?
Asking because I know I'll be travelling to the airport in September.

    • +1

Sorry I couldn't find any dates mentioned. Last time this offer was on, their site mentioned dates, but I can't find the deal on their site yet, it's just through email I found the code about an hour ago. Keep checking the site :)

      • No worries, thanks!

    • +1

They seem to refresh this deal every month so you should be fine.

  • For those in Melbourne, note that the 20km restriction means that trips to/from the CBD won't be covered - that's a 22km journey. Basically it won't work unless you're in the northern or western suburbs.

    • It covers you up to 20km then it hits you with gst, tolls and what not. Always dodgy Indian tactics. I end up paying $37 for a $25 flat rate

      • As if the drivers get commission from the toll??

        • The drivers don't get commission but got charged booking fee, levy fee, taxes (gst) and 15 cent higher toll fee when it should've been 7.96.

    • I used the code last week, from the CBD (Spring St) to the airport the trip cost $28 including tolls.

  • I have had nothing but issues with this mob, last time I used the $25 deal it charged tolls which I did not take, and they stood by their system and said I was wrong (even though their final map showed me nowhere near tolls).. so many more examples of how this company has ripped me off and show no customer care, but I will not go into them all.. all i can say is buyer/user beware.

    • I had a bad experience with UBer with their peak surcharge, and now you are saying this OLA is also as bad.
Who is the best provider at the moment? Uber or OLA?

      • +1

I found OLA's peak charges to be worse … When it comes to customer service IMO Uber are way above the rest, Ola shows better prices upfront but I have found uber's estimates to be closer to the final fare.
Example of Ola's customer service: Charged toll I did not use, went to their helps section in app, selected incorrect toll/parking charge, shows automated reply that the toll was correct and that they can not manually check.
Had driver driver 5-10km under the speed limit an entire trip, and slow right down when approaching every traffic light in hope to catch a red one (which eventually he did), slowing down at every corner asking directions even though the GPS map we could both see showed the correct route, and then deliberately missing my destination turn, and took 2 minutes to get back there prior to leaving the trip open after he dropped me off and drove to the airport.. all to make the trip longer and gain him more $$$ .. went to app help and again the auto reply was I was charged correctly.
These are just 2 examples, both of which I sent an email to them, both which took nearly a month to get a reply to again be told they are right and I am wrong, the only exception is they gave me a little credit back due to the driver not finishing the trip when dropping me off.
If i had similar problems with Uber I would see an investigation, would get an apology and refund in a reply no more than 24 hours later.

In regards to fares, I went to the same location 2 nights in a row, uber quoted around $17, OLA $14 .. so i took OLA, final fare was $19
Next day the same fare estimates shown, took Uber and paid $16.. both days no traffic lights and very light traffic, same route.

needless to say I not longer have the ola app on my phone.

    • Agree. If you are using their services remember to screen shot your estimated prices beforehand. I got stung hard last time when I took a ride to Sydney airport. Estimated 12 dollars (after discount applied) and was charged 26 dollars in the end (it was 30+ before I disputed).

  • Signup for Didi instead

  • Sorry to hear some of you guys had bad experiences with them. I haven't used them for a while but used this deal numerous times last time it was around and had no issues.
Another company to use is taxify incase uber, ola are giving you jip. Someone already mentioned didi

  • Is this per person, or for per cab?

  • So it’s charge $25 up to 20km? How about if I live 15mins away from airport? Normally uber charges only $15-18. Not the good deal for me :(
Pass but thanks for sharing it.
    Cheers

    • No, it’s a discount if it’s more than $25.

  • Used this for my recent trips from and to the airport. It came down to $24

  • if Ola works, its great. just got SYD domestic from 10km away for $23

If Ola doesn't work… accept your losses and continue living your life, because their customer service doesn't exist

  • Only showing $11.xx for the discount amount for some reason - used the referral system instead which did $20 off.
