      Generally the leaked or rumoured benchmarks from amd never actually end up being as good as they claim

          @PhatSunt: I didn't see any normal benchmarking at e3 though. I saw someone pouring dry ice or something into an amd processor to try to get a world record

      I’m assuming you are referring to Geekbench? While Geekbench isn’t that highly regarded, I’d be more than happy if the 3800X performs within 5% of the 9900K for 100 USD less for both ST and MT with the same amount of cores.

  Decent price, but given Intel announcing yesterday a 10-15% price cut and Ryzen just a week or so away I think I will wait.

      a little stronger than just a rumor as it is being reported out of manufacturing partners and it makes sense. But yes it has not been officially confirmed, though if any of the ryzen benchmarks are even close they really have no choice.

  Definitely a strategic play to move stock before Ryzen 3 launches and makes them even poorer value for money and Intel pushes through their RRP cuts. Would wait unless you needed one critically.
