These are really good scissors. Even though i don't need any more I am always buying another set just because :)

  • Personally I prefer shorter scissors when mulling up.

These scissors are small, sharp and have a comfy cushion handle.

Hardness of Titanium is less than that of typical stainless (like 316) so these should actually go blunt faster than regular stainless. So not sure why that's a selling point…

The titanium ones shouldn't sink at least

I did some googling for my own curiosity

316 Stainless Steel is 146 on the Brinell (hardness) Scale.
Titanium is 120 for Grade 1 but 200 for Grade 2.
-into the mid 300s for titanium alloys.

But coatings are usually Titanium Nitride - good for abrasion and corrosion resistance, but couldn't find anything on it actually doing anything for hardness.
Generally less than 0.005 mm thick.

Without knowing the thickness of the coating they use, or the stainless grade - it's probably more marketing than anything else.
Scissors need to be sharpened occasionally which will remove the coating - so it most likely doesn't matter anyway!

    • I can tell you from experience, we have use the 230mm Titanium Scissors to cut "wet stuff" for about 6 years now and they are still corrosion free (including under the hinge) and sharp as ever. We just rinse and dry them after use. I also have another pair for cutting bubblewrap and paper for packing orders and they are still sharp after 3 years.

We posted our first 216mm titanium scissors with offset handlesdeal 2 years ago. Any OZ Bargainers who can provide some feedback on their use and experience?

  • Anyone recommend a kitchen scissors ?

Are these any good for chopping buds?

Try these Osmer 114mm embroidery Scissors. They have vanadium stainless steel blades (measure 1.75mm thick each). The vanadium significantly strengthens the stainless steel and improves corrosion resistance. They are small, sharp and have a comfy cushion handle. And they are on sale too!

    • Try the disposable surgical scissors. They're like $3, they don't get loose and they last foreeever.
