Must be getting desperate to get their sales figures up :P

    • +2

That had the same deal earlier this year in March, except that time it was offering 24 months interest free. You're still better off selling privately, you'll almost always get a better price.

    • +1

In that case they should offer a iPhone XS Max for 1c.

Ozbargain will make sure they smash their sale figures

  • +3

Trade-in values will vary based on the condition, year and configuration of your trade-in device

My iPhone 6s Plus 128GB is worth $195 apparently. Better off selling it myself

    • +2

Damn, my iPhone 6 Plus 64GB is worth only $130
Was on a high for half a second.

  • +3

    hahahaha welcome to pawn stars

  • +4

Thanks Apple, we have now realistic second hand value on devices

  • -1

Just went through it to see how much my iPhone X (64GB, excellent condition) is worth.
    $0 apparently.

    • +1

You probably mis clicked or misread one of the questions. I accidentally selected no to water damage free first time

    • +1

It's offering me $510 for an 64GB iPhone X - try the form again.

  • 2017 iPhone 6s Plus 64gb Silver - A$165 :(

  • +1

No deal. Mobile Monster will buy iPhone X for more $900 for 'As New', $850 for 'Working'.

    • +3

Mobile Monster are an effin joke.
They state an amount and when you send it in they will revise the offer.
You then complain and they will honour the original price.
I grew tired of their business strategy, I'm sure desperate folks would of accepted the lower offer.

      • they're for people who've never heard of ebay, fb marketplace or gumtree.

they're offering me $160 on a near new, 128gb iphone se. gtfoh

  • How about if the phone is locked? just curious because they did not mention anything in regards to that.

    • -1

      Locked or bricked?

      • Genius….
I'm sure Fred means Apple ID locked.

    • +2

      hahaha

      Wow, you're a mindless douche.
Apple products are fine, not for everyone. For people who want a phone that does everything they want, Apple name great products.
As a company, they are scum. Value for money, debatable trash. Still, the product is top quality, and functions as well as or better due to limited hardware variations.

I dislike Apple products, but don't think Android is that much better. Same shit, more options, more opportunity to (profanity) everything up. It's basically the Linux of the mobile work, complete with it's ignorant douche refilled community.

Now, give me a phone running full windows, with a 2 USB, a HDMI port, and the ability to run a full desktop while having a 'phone mode' being a pure application - then I have a useful device.

Right now, I can either be ignorant (top model Apple phone every year) or a douche (top model Samsung every year) while waiting for a true surface phone to be released.

    • +1

The slowdowns were to mitigate affects of worn out batteries on older devices.
I agree though, there are more features and customisation options on Android.
Though I don't think these points are relevant in this deal.
Apple is more secure, and people have a personal preference to the interface and usability.

  • $605 for iPhone X 256GB perfect condition.

How is it possible to get $725?

    • im guessing if it’s highest capacity, really new and possibly most popular colour

    • Probably for an iPhone XS Max 512GB straight out of the box.

      • -1

Surely not, why would someone trade in the current model for credit when it's already the latest one.

        • It was a joke.

        • +1

          Wanted different color

  • No iPhone 5!!!

    • +2

iPhone 5 appears in the list of obsolete and vintage products

      https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201624

They won't take anything older than an iPhone 6.

      • again, stupid move. basically they are saying screw you customers who bought iphone 5. we took your money now we dont even want to touch it. even if you want to upgrade to latest $1800 ipX we wont pay a cent for ip5.

        • -1

Yeah they should buy iPhone 1st gens too right.

          • -1

@Ryanek: is that a sarcasm? i hope not, because i thought that would be a perfect marketing for apple, if they go to the worlds saying "hey look we are looking after our loyal customers, not like samsung etc. we will buy your 1st gen phone (so you can upgrade to the latest $1800 ipx). never worry buying our product, we will look after you"

    • +1

Try my SE…not accepted. Last time i checked it was later model than the 6

      • some months back, i tried my SE and they generated some joke amount. really isn't worth selling it back to apple.

  • This apple, trying to rip off their loyal customers? I don't understand their head of marketing. Drop out from high school?

Apple has money. Alot. They should keep their loyal customers by encouraging us to keep upgrading phone by offering trade in prices higher than current market. So people will believe their phone is a good investment and have high resale value. That is a good Marketing tactics.

    • +2

I vote ChiMot for apple CCO

      • No brainer. Their products are based on luxury speciality and loyalty. Now they are saying here for you who buying our products, this is what we value them! We charge more but paying less! You are just our cash cows!

Imagine the opposite. Hey mum look let's upgrade all our phones! Super easy no need to deal with scumtree and eBay! Just bring to apple store, we get good value and we go home with a new phone!

  • Trade in my phone and still cost more than an S10.
    Nah yeah nah

  • +7

This isn't a deal. They always offer this!

  • Can this be done in store, as i'm not sure why I'd want to be phone-less, wait days for a gift card, then go get a phone..

    • This can only be done in store as the Apple employee needs to check your phone's condition.

  • "iPhone X - Up to $725" yet when I looked up my iPhone X 256GB which is in perfect condition, they'll only give me $605?

  • "could"

  • Very sad. Credit less than market value, and upgrade cost massive for little benefit.

Apple has a problem: they need the long support life (and low depreciation) to justify their outrageous cost for the latest model, but are upset that customers are baulking at the new XS/XR prices, and keeping their old phones. Apple has to recognise the fundamental economic principle of price vs demand may apply to them!

    • probably will become nokia part 2? unlikely but noone knows the future….

    • Indeed. I bought my 7 128gb outright and was fine with $1200. I would not pay more than that for the latest phone.

  • Pfft.. sold my iPhone 6S 64gb for $280 just last week.

  • +1

Keeping phone as a spare phone or giving it to a family member as a gift would give a lot more satisfaction than getting such a ridiculous credit from Apple. Each to their own obviously.

  • I don’t understand, normally a store credit would have a bump up in given value and you’d have a bit less in cash. If you take ebgames, a trade in game would give you more store credit so you are incentivised to buy more at the same store … if you can get more cash … why would you get a store credit? I don’t get it … maybe that’s why i’m poor and not running a billion dollars company

    • try trillion

  • pity the trade in price barely scratches the surface
