      Thats a Bellini Pressure Cooker

  • 1000 watt motor? To spin food around?

  • Thanks, missus's birthday present sorted :)

  • Need an honest report.

I have a basic 6L Kambrook slow cooker which I love and use all the time.
I also have a rice cooker that I use all the time.

I'm worried that this is the "Jack of all and Master of None", but would love to clear up some storage space.
Can anyone provide first hand feedback when comparing the "function" to a "dedicated appliance"?

I have one. Got it to replace my slow cooker, as was annoyed at lack of thermostat in slow cooker.

But have become a convert to pressure cooking. Think of this as a modern electronic pressure cooker, with added functions.
It makes a good steamer too.
The only question for me is reliability. It works well so far.

Something I wish I had of known is that unlike slow cookers, the these multi-cookers are designed to keep everything in and avoid evaporation (due to it also being a pressure cooker). Most slow cooker recipes rely on slow evaporation of the sauce or liquids to concentrate the flavour a bit. You can easily overcome this by reducing the amount of liquid and increasing some of the flavours. Just something to keep in mind.

I have a different philips multicooker, and the rice function is OK. Good enough for my uses as I only have rice a couple of times a month. Also keep in mind that if you eat rice with things you normally cook in a slow/pressure cooker, you have to still use your rice cooker, or cook in two batches.

So to answer your question, it's unlikely to reduce your storage space, but I agree, pressure cooking is great and worth it for that function alone.

  • Damn already got the breville. Not sure if should return now.
