Be careful of this seller…ratings are terrible

      • How do you see who seller is? I cant see it, can only see its from amazon US.

        • +1

Scroll down until see new (4) from 161 and click on it and then you can see other sellers

      • Mistakenly purchased from the seller, canceled the order.
        appears to be canceled in the "canceled list;
        waiting for refund.
How long does it take for refund typicallay?

from 3rd party seller and the seller feedback is poor. No thanks

I think the stock is sourced from here for a quick profit.

I do not mean any derogatory towards the seller. When I came across the seller's product page, that's what I think. I think the seller is brillian, and can catch such a lot of good deals products. That's the seller's product page and judge for yourself.

IMO, the seller must be one of our OzBarginers, whom have a brain, positive attitude, dedication and agility to catch such a lot of hard to catch deals. Kudos to the seller! 👏👏👏

this 3rd party shop is really bad. 100% negative :(

Thanks OP, used my credit from the previous pricing errors to get one.

  • Good Price.

  • In the age of the cloud what do people use these for?

    • Speed and and its cheaper in the long term maybe?
What cloud service are you using ? I’m thinking of transferring my data to the cloud too

My internet connection is unreliable. I prefer to have all my content stored locally.

How are you gonna backup 5TB to the cloud on your average Australian internet connection? It would take forever!!

    • Additional game console storage, local backup, media centre…

      • What RPM? If 5400 might as well bury a time capsule

      To store Pr0n?

Backing up TV shows on a plex server

    • Backing up data locally in your own home, away from the cloud.

      • You need multiple copies, one being offsite if it's a true backup.

  • These are meant to be really slow… not even worth shucking.

    • +1

I've got two in my Plex server. They're fine, and it was worth shucking.

      • I am thinking of buying one to shuck and put into my EliteDesk Mini as a backup target drive.

That way I can go from RAID6 to RAID5 and know that I also have redundancy on all of my really important stuff.

I would love to know what the performance is like. :)

EDIT: also are these SMR drives?

  • Can anyone comment on the reliability of these drives?

  • Can this be removed or is it hard wired usb connector

    • It can be shucked.

      • What is meant"?

        • +1

Buying it in a case, then taking out the physical hard drive from the case to use in another device.

Refers to the "shucking" of an oyster, where you open the shell and take the meat out from inside.

          • @misterbung: Thanks why would someone shuck it for?

And what's the speed? Assuming 5400RPM is it even worth?

            • +1

@capslock janitor: It means I don't have to rely on a USB interface nor have cables and drives hanging out of my server. That may eventually happen but I'd like to keep it you a minimum.

I also have a good hard disk idle script that runs on boot. It works perfectly with SATA interfaces but has proven to be unreliable with USB. The nature of my setup means I don't need all my drives powered on or spinning all day - one for example only gets written to once a day.

              Shucking solves both these issues.

  • Thanks OP! Got the grey version for $111 before it ran out. $87 with shipping and after the gift card from the pricing error. Forgot to use cashback though. Still a good deal.

    • Let us know if the item arrives as described. The seller had "zero" feedback.

      • Sure thing.

So far the item has been shipped and Amazon took the $87 from my card. Latest delivery date is 11th of June.

        • Yeah that was a scam. No item ever posted. Refunded by Amazon.

  • Im new to Ozbargain. Would like to buy the 5TB HD. How to buy this using cashback offer and all? What will be the final price for this item…

    • Click the cashback link below the image in this page. Create an account, search for Amazon in that link, click activate cashback and buy

  • Hi Upbeat
