whats the disadvantage without LDS?
Also the battery is half the size
I have an E20 and absolutely love it.
E20 has a much larger bin and a mop attachment.
On hard floors I find Silent/Normal modes pick up everything and so the battery size doesn’t disadvantage this over S50.
It does Carpet Boost and proper Planning (parallel lines as opposed to randomly bouncing about) - same as S50.However, with the S50 you can do zone cleaning (clean only a specific space/rectangle in the map) & set virtual walls (do not cross line on map - eg where toys are scattered or to stop mop going on rug). E20 doesn’t have these features.

Is there a way of avoiding moping on carpet area automatically with E20? Can't it detect the surface type?No mate. E20 can detect carpet and turn on CarpetBoost (Max mode) but it can’t stop itself going over carpets with the mop attachment. You can install magnetic tape to create virtual walls or use it without mop as just a vacuum.
I just shut the doors to carpeted rooms when mopping and open them for plain vacuuming.
how does it compare with the more expensive iRobot and Samsung? just moved into a huge new home, I'm at lost of how I'm gonna do weekly cleaning
This is pretty good, mine doesn't do 100% of the cleaning but it means we only properly vacuum and sweep when people are coming over. The big thing for me is the amount of pet hair it keeps off things, very useful.
This. A daily run keeps the pet hair and general fluff at bay between a full manual vacuum.
