Free Docklands (VIC) Event: Ignite at Docklands (20-29 June 2008, 6pm-11pm)

City of Melbourne presents a new experience in Docklands this winter, drawing together international musicians, performance artists and lighting experts to invigorate, illuminate and stimulate the winter waterfront. Add to this the numerous restaurants serving specifically devised dishes and cocktails, the Melbourne Docklands is definitely the place to fire up this June. Become engulfed in the sensory experience of the Fire Garden, featuring special lighting projections which will immerse the audience in dancing embers and flickering flames, played out to a specially devised sound track. Then really heating up the waterfront is the Pyro Organ. The fire fuelled organ erupts twice nightly as international performance artists and musicians, armed with ignition and inspiration, clamber in a tightly choreographed sequence that explores the essence of flame combustion.
