Yep killed the deal for me.
Pickup is worse !!!
Here comes Computer Alliance!!!!
still prefer Jagged Alliance
I’m quite partial to the Rebel Alliance myself.
I very much respect CA for keeping site prices the same as ebay…but this kinda makes the 20% ebay sale, with free shipping(!), seem a hell of a lot better than this?
I believe CA take some items off their ebay store if its unprofitable instead of jacking the price up.
Correct. But most of us respect that rather than dislike obvious price jacking.
$15 for delivery. Shame it negates the discount
$25 for me, was still slightly cheaper than normal. But nothing worth buying now.
Ok for people living in Brisbane.
Exactly. This promotion partly a test of a new coupon system, and is more focused on some of our locals who prefer to pick up, and where we provide more payment options than possible on eBay. Still a lot of deals for interstate as well, especially for the higher $ items. Doing quite well so far!
Once we have this coupon system polished up you will probably find a few coupons tailored to Ozbargain. Not necessarily sitewide but more targeted and free freight is also option for deals.
Sweet. Was about to purchase a 1050ti for my optiplex 9010 picked up from an ebay deal. But just realised I have a wifi card installed, and I kinda need that…. FML
Get a usb wifi dongle, problem solved.
Swap the WiFi card out for a WiFi usb dongle? WiFi usb beats the hell out of a usb gpu =p
had a cheap one, had huge issues downloading linus iso's, and pc is used as a plex media server also. Have not tried usb dongle with 5ghz wifi… would I get my full 50/20 with 10ms ping?
I've used a cheap one before on a few Linux boxes, I was just super careful to find one that came with Linux drivers and used a ralink chip. I heard they were better than others.
The one I used was very cheap, and only N150, so it didn't perform super well. I've tried a tp-link ac1200 usb stick and it was great. Don't remember ping however =/
5ghz wifi. DLink DWA-192.
Non-NBN HFCPING

1.25 MbpsYep, PCIe is reliable … USB not so much.
lol who uses PCI-E for WIFI card HAHAHAHAHAHA
that would be me… LOL
i had a cheap d-link usb wifi dongle, couldn't handle the simplest of tasks, swapped to this pci-e 5ghz card and works great… I don't know any different! :/I bought my parents a TP-Link Archer and it's really good. It's kinda expensive but you get what you pay for when it comes to USB dongles.

@Homr: If i'm getting the card through computer alliance I thought I may as well purchase a USB dongle from there.. .thoughts on this one? https://www.computeralliance.com.au/linksys-ae6000-wireless-…
otherwise i'll look into your option! thanks
@jakeyo: Can't comment on that one since I havent used it. The TP link archer is also sold at Computer Alliance but
Anybody with a modern motherboard that came with onboard WiFi … or anyone that wants a reliable connection because USB is flaky.
Would the power supply (PSU) of the OptiPlex 9010 be able to handle the power requirement of the 1050Ti?
yes, with extra power to spare, apparently. There are a few write-ups and youtube videos putting 1050ti's in 9010, 9020 etc.
Interesting …
Yes
These guys have very good customer service. I got a Seagate SATA SSD on their ebay store from last deal. Good communication and very fast delivery. Can't be happier
Purchased a Synology DS218+ NAS and a WD 6TB Red hard drive. 17$ shipping was a heartbreak- hoping it arrives in a unicorn drawn chariot in a giant gold case.
I wouldnt hold my breath. They sent my 2700x in a freaken star track express sachel that got all fk'd up in transit. I sent them a WTF email and they said take it up with Auspost. scum.
god they are scum they returned the price of the ryzen 2700x from $519 to $469 after there 20% off sale on ebay like only a week ago, and would you look at that, 15% off and its back to $519. Price jack or what.. dont "discount" if u can't afford it @CA
Yeah that’s odd. I wouldn’t call them scum, as they’re usually pretty upfront and honest about why their prices change. However, most other retailers are selling for $469, so it doesn’t seem like a supplier cost increase.
They seem to have a reputation here on OzBargain for not jacking up the prices, but I've seen them do it many times.
Zen2 is almost here, and we're getting a 5ghz 3700X, so hold out a bit for your AMD CPU if you can ;)
$35 postage to WA, ordered end of last month only to find out their eBay store is only $15 postage to WA!! 😡
Shipping is killer…
