  5th gen? We're up to 8th gen, which are in all new laptops. 8th gen is 85% faster than 7th gen let alone 5th.

  Probably a bargain though. I'm not following Apple pricing.

      Other than some gaming laptops, 9th Gen is not yet common among ultra portables, so 8th gen still valid for real life comparison

  It does seem a bit much for old tech, especially as the screen is a bit of a letdown on this one, compared to the retina displays. Having said that, it is still an Apple laptop…

  Current gen is on Apple store @ $1499 which can be combined with the targeted Amex $200 off $1000 offer to bring it down to $1299. Obviously it for everyone but if you're eligible that would be best.

  5th gen? Last time I bought my 4th gen was 6 years ago for nearly half the price. And now apple is leaving the laptop with outdated software with bugs. Wasn't buggy until they upgrade their os a year or two ago

    You can remedy a 128GB SSD but that 5th gen cpu in a $1299 price tag is inexcusable since you get the below for just over $1200 with an 8th gen cpu.
