Good price. If you have been waiting for a price drop, here's your chance.

  • These or the sony m3's?
    Decisions decisions…..

    • +6

      Sony

    • Don't know Sony but I have these (gift) and are perfect for me.
Very long battery life and very comfortable.
The noise canceling is stunning when used in a plane. Nicely folding as well.
      Very happy

    • +12

Don't listen to anyone on here. Head into JBHIFI & see which product suits you.

For myself, I found Bose to be more comfortable, Sony to have better sound quality. I chose comfort over a higher level volume of sony because I'm not blasting the music all the way.

    • +2

I went to JBHiFi to test hear these and the BOSE sounded better and heaps more comfy. The Sony sounded very muddy and not enough treble imo and nowhere near as comfy as the BOSE.

    • +5

Go test them at JB Hifi. I have both Sony and Bose but prefer the Bose due to the comfort (far superior IMO). Sony does sound better (less muddy) but for me I the comfort is the overwhelming factor.

    • +1

I just bought the Sonys. Tested them both and found the Sony's to be far more comfortable and better sounding. It really does depend on the person.

    • Just had to make the same decision, ended up with the sony's, better build quality, much better sound, comfort is comparable, much better noice cancelling and most importantly 30 hours battery life compared to bose's 20

    • +1

You need to try both. I had the Sony and loved it, very comfortable earpad and excellent app support. But because it's over-ear design, it was too hot inside after a while. I ended up selling it and not bought anything yet. So considering it is 300+ item, go and check before you decide.

    • I'm also in the market for some noise cancelling headphones. Like others have suggested I highly recommend to try these on in store to test their comfort, noise cancellation and sound quality. Audio quality is very subjective and personal. Having tried the Bose and the Sony side by side, the Bose were very comfortable and fit my head perfectly and would be my preference if comfort was my priority. In terms of sound, the Bose have very boosted bass and a fuller sound, whilst the Sony ones were more on the neutral/accurate side. Neither excited me as an audiophile-grade experience. Both had excellent noise cancellation - but I would give the edge to the Bose because they had a better seal around my ears and I suspect the sound profile with the boosted bass would help negate a lot of external low frequency drone sounds on top of what is already excellent noise cancellation.

    • Bose have a deeper cavity and softer pads which may be why they are more comfortable. I have ears that stick out and I couldnt handle the Sony for more than an hour or so before getting headaches.. whereas the Bose I can leave on all day.

Sony is more featured but I'm more than happy with the Bose.

    Bose

    • Appreciate the input, what sold them to you please? How does QC35 fare making/receiving calls while listening to music?

      • It is a phone feature I would say rather than a headset feature, for me it interrupts the play and puts through the call.
The only issue is - with the noise canceling - you never know how loud are you talking :) :) :)
For making calls you could ask nicely (Google Assistant)

      • Bose wins for call making, loses in SQ. Both are comfortable. All my opinion. Head down to JB and try them.

  • Will it be legit to buy from this seller if there will be any issue with the item? How to claim warranty if something goes wrong

    • +3

Yes, Videopro is a very well established Bose authorised supplier and you won't have an issue with after sales support. All you need to do is ebay message them or call their store.

    • -1

Price match with a Bose store for direct warranty and ease of replacements. Also they have a new AR feature only available at Bose stores apparently.

      • Bose stores accept price match?

      • AR?

      • +2

        Good News!

Confirming all of our Bose QC35's are AR compatible - you may just need to complete a firmware update.

"QuietComfort 35 wireless headphones II are now enabled with Bose AR—the world’s very first audio-only augmented-reality platform, where applications will utilise contextual audio to deliver first-of-a-kind experiences. Unlock Bose AR via a firmware update through the Bose Connect app."

Great deal. Been awhile since we've seen the QC35 at this price range

  • +1

I've purchased from Videopro before, seems legit. Price of QC35 is damn good, haven't seen anything decent in a while!

  • Thanks heaps. Bought one.

  • +3

Cheers for this. I am going these over the Sony's because the microphone is important for work.
This is a good video showing you the massive differnce in mic quality if this matters to some

  • good deal. Time to upgrade qc25 to qc35 right now.

    • I downgraded recently. Replaceable batteries (eneloops) are more convenient, and wired connectivity means more battery life on my MP3 player.

    • Any deals on qc25's? I'd prefer them.

  • +1

I bought from video pro and they were fine.

I had a sony noise cancelling pair of similar value and the boseqc35's smashed em.

This is a good price too.

  • So if I purchase this and then fly to Germany within two months, I can get 10% back at Melbourne Airport, right? Anything special I need to do when purchasing, apart from keeping the receipt? Sorry about noob questions, just want to make sure I understand it all correctly

    • +1

You need the receipt and I would advise heading to the airport earlier than usual if you’re leaving from a popular international airport as trs will take some time

      • Yeah I'll definitely get there early. Thanks!

      • +2

You can do it online before you get to the airport, so when you arrive you just go to the counter with yout pre-authorised paperwork and the headphones. It will take no longer than 45 seconds once you are served.

        • +1

Did this as well, and was much faster!

    • +1

Take the headphones with you it is over $300 and the receipt with you, purchased within 60 days, as long as it had GST in the price you get the GST back on the product (not the delivery component). So will be 1/11th of the product price.
Line up in the long line that seems to take forever even though you filled in the stuff from their stupid app that told you that you would save time at the airport!! sorry rant over, that was Sydney Airport though. They are very strict with a time limit that it closes before your flight boards. Check the trs website to find the limit as they refused a few people while i was waiting. it is on the other side of customs so allow time to check in and get through customs first.

      • For TRS claim, you have to fly anycountry outside Australia? Even though you’re Australian, can you still claim?

        • AFAIK yes. I did it in the past.

      • Thanks for the info! I'll make sure I leave enough time

      • Best part about this is the tax invoice shows the original price ($353) as opposed to the discounted price because eBay pays the merchant that part.

So you get the full GST refund of ~$35!

    • +2

To make things easy, download the 'Tourist Refund Scheme' app. it creates a QR code with all your information prepared.

  • Fantastic price!

  • Do Costco sell these? Price?

    • The Bose headset I got as a gift was from COSTCO
      Not sure about the price…

      • Thanks.

    • Costco sell the version 1 for 380

      • Do they not have version 2?

        • Not at the store I am at (Epping VIC)

  • -2

These do not have AR functions. Head into a Bose store and request a price match. They seem to be the only ones that have the new model.
Also, a new Bose 700 headphone will replace the QC35 by the end of the year. Hence the new prices. Check out reddit's r/Bose for more details.

    • Sorry, noob here, but what are AR functions? A did a quick google but it didn't turn up anything obvious.

    • Will the QC30s see a successor (in ear) as well? Have the 35, would prefer an in ear model this time.

    • Just wondering? Does Bose accept price match? Are you referring to shops like JB Hifi or are there legit Bose shops?

    • Bose 700 headphones? You sure you don't mean the soundbar 700? Which is actually a current soundbar. Any link for this reddit post? I only managed to find one about the so called qc45. And it's only just speculation that a new headset will be coming out soon which really is inevitably. Just a matter of how soon is soon.

  • Thanks OP, grabbed one.

  • My suggestion start is with a $60 taotronics NC one… And if you are happy save 250….

  • Why doesnt the PHONO promo code work on these items?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/456833

    • Videopro is no longer a part of that deal apparently

  • +1

Decided not to go w/ the previous sale but after seeing this had to bite the bullet and got one.

    • Same boat. Glad I waited :)

  • +6

with all these promotions pretty sure everyone on Ozb has a pair of Bose QC35 lol

    • +1

Amazing that the words bargain and a $300 pair of headphones go together!

      • -1

Sounds like you aren't the type that appricates and/or notice the build and sound quality for headsets, all good though #respect :)

        • Guess so, I only watch movies and sleep with them on planes.

Just flew in from NYC and my TDK NC50's are still doing their job after 4 - 5 years. But the ear pieces are starting to flake.

Keeping an eye out for cheap QC25's. Don't want a built in battery.

  • Just curious. If I apply for TRS, do they look at the price with 10% discount or the price the shop is selling it at?

    • The price you paid as shown on the tax invoice.

  • Just bought.. thanks!! both bose and JB hifi wouldnt price match the ebay store though :(

    • Same here. Jb HiFi said that they are not able to match so low of a price.

  • Are these close to HD598s? I need new headphones, preferably wireless
