UPDATE: Many users are reporting cancelled orders due to a pricing error

Amazon have now started emailing to advise of the cancellation and are giving $30 vouchers per order. You can check your coupons here. For the record my order of 3 was cancelled and I received the $30 gift voucher too. The drives would have been great but I'm also pretty happy with this compensation. Congratulations to anyone who gets their order delivered.

Insane price for the 10TB WD My Book external hard drive. Limit to 3 per customer, and remember to use cashback. I grabbed 3 for $389.52 + Free Delivery with Prime.

Features

Auto backup with included WD Backup software and Time Machine compatibility

Note on prices above $400

Some people are seeing prices over $400 and the item being listed by a different seller. This could be due to a variety of reasons such as cookies, account preferences or perhaps they are not logged in. You can append ?smid=A4XRJ8S0WXSO0 to the URL or by using the "Other Sellers on Amazon" widget to choose Amazon US as the seller.

  • Starting to see a few bargain 10TB drives on eBay ;) Tempted to buy one to pair with the one I received yesterday.

    • seeing a few but not at bargain prices, heap on Gum Tree, and a few on FB Marketplace. All seem to want to make at $150 - $200.

This guy wishes he saw this deal, he bought one for $400 for a colleague who then changed his mind and has left him at least $100 out of pocket!

Wait a minute, I wonder why he can’t just return it to the store…

  • Curious, I got the email saying $30 giftcard.

When going to check out this doesn't show, I"m logged in with the same username..
    Any ideas?

Email does say elegable items unsure whats elegable and not?

  • I just got mine cancelled. And got a $20 gift card for it. Not $30. :(

To help make up for the inconvenience, we've applied a $20.00 (one gift card per customer) Amazon.com Gift Card to your account. This amount will be applied to your next eligible order automatically without entering a claim code.

    • Yeah, same. Oh well, would've liked the drives but $20 for nothing is fine.

    • $30 is from amazon AU , $20 is from amazon US ………….

  • Just got my follow-up email from WD support saying my AUS adapter will arrive in 10-15 days.

  • It's wired…
Amazon starts to ship out the orders which are not cancelled ….

Keen on anyone that’s Shucked please post photos of how they’ve gone!!!

  • Using Data Lifeguard to check the drive now before shucking tomorrow :)

    • I gave up after ~8 hours, with over 10 to go.

      • Mine is saying about 13hrs to go, and WD estimate an hour per gig. Not sure why yours took so long

      • +1

Took 17hrs in total, but all clean :)

Had a few issues with the shucking (stupid exFAT), but sorted eventually. Also got the 2nd monitor working on the integrated GPU just with a bios setting, so yay for that! Also took out an old 1.5TB that had died and looks like it was actually slowing the system down :/

  • Got mine. Very happy.

  • Can you use these as an external HD for the PS4?
