    What a disgrace this whole thing is… I asked why I needed to resubmit and they said my original wasn't good enough quality, I asked them to share that back with me so I could see what's wrong… They refuse… so fishy.

    So can I use these on an item that costs more than $14, and pay the rest with another card? Or does purchase have to be less than $14?

    What's the best use for this?

    But this one is different.

    It said my visa card is valid but will take another 10 busienss days.

    Looks like I'm getting a bit more from Unilever from one of the complaint cases I had open with them:

      I've finally received my Visa Card just now too. So now I can start eating the ice cream and don't need to return it.

        Yeah, both.
        I just complained telling them how ridiculous it has all been, with the lack of communication, multiple resubmissions, etc etc.

        I did also contact ACCC and Fair Trading as well separately though - it's too soon to expect a response from either of them.

  • Is there anyone using a Hotmail address that has actually received theirs? Promo team are adamant they have sent it but it is not in my normal email or junk folder. After speaking to someone else who also has a Hotmail address they are also saying they haven’t gotten theirs.

      If they are adamant they sent to your Hotmail address (presumably they have a retained copy of what they sent you), they should have no problems resending it again. Try that and see.

          Very frustrating, I can understand. Perhaps Attention it to Laila specifically (she was helpful and pleasant in her last response) - and explain your issue and ask for a resend. Also, perhaps ask her to address it to 2 email addresses (the Hotmail, and an additional one) - in case the Hotmail address has some issues. Good luck!

              Not at all … I can empathize, and want to help if I can. If it weren't for you, we would not have the direct address to write to, which had made our claims easier. Which is why I would like to see you get the VISA, which is due to you. Hope you get it before long.

    • Exact same issue. They claim they sent mine on the 17/6. Nothing in inbox or junk.

      • Maybe check in the Focused inbox in hotmail… Sometimes mail goes there…

    Finally got mine today. Submitted 15th May. Had to do one resubmission with text msg verification. Sent an email to [email protected] to follow up on claim yesterday but no reply.

  • Got 2 out of 3 today; the 2 that didn't need resubmission. The one that did hasn't been responded to……….

  • All of the codes have been sent out today thank god for that but I’m still waiting on one of the emails to confirm the cvv and expiry date. Anyone else experiencing delays? All the other emails came through instantly.

    Finally received mine and instantly bought an eWISH gift card… which I used to buy groceries straight away so they can not take the money away for whatever reason they might come up with.

    For some reason I got a second visa for the one claim. That being said, my partner put in a claim and nothing arrived (different email address). Call it even I guess.

    P.S. I think their promo matched the ice cream product pretty well .. sounded good, but turned out to be pretty ordinary!

  • Submitted online claim on 3/6, sent follow up email to query status 20/6, received virtual GC 24/6.

    I'm glad they honoured the deal in the end. At least they didn't do what some other companies have done, e.g. just walk away from it all and pretend the promotion didn't exist (cough (Noodle Box ). Having said that it was definitely a bumpy road and more hassle than it should have been.

    • Oh wow, I did actually get that one. I didn’t realise no one else did. I am still yet to receive this one though.

      • Lucky you! I didn't get anything from the Noodle box promo and from the OzBargain comments, I just assumed they gave up.

        For the Ben and Jerry's gift card, try emailing [email protected] with your claim number and a polite query asking why the delay. That's what I did, and I received my card by email 4 days later.

        • Done that, many times. No luck. They say they sent it, I never got it. I asked for it to be resent. It hasn’t been. Another family member is in the same boat.

  • Still have nothing. After chasing them yet again, after a week of no contact, I received this from Liam (Customer Support <[email protected]>):

    Thank you for your patience.
    ​Having had another look at your claim I can confirm that your claim has yet to be approved as it has yet to be confirmed.
    Could you please confirm your mobile number so that we can look into this further.

    As a result, I wrote the following to ACCC complaints form:

    On May 16, I purchased some Ben & Jerry's ice cream due to their promotion regarding a $14 VISA gift card. The T&Cs of the promotion was to submit a valid Woolworths receipt, and the gift card would be supplied within 10 business days. Having done this, and being asked to resubmit multiple times (obvious delay tactic, based on consensus on ozbargain forums), they are still refusing to fulfil their end of the promotion. Note the promotion is apparently operated through "Edge Loyalty".
    I believe this promotion to be entirely misleading, and in my opinion amounts to false advertising. I am happy to forward any email correspondence as required.

      Hello, it has been almost another 2 weeks, and I still have not gotten the gift card. They are asking me to verify my details again. This has been an entire farce of a promotion
      This is entirely unacceptable, and has damaged your brand greatly, especially since you have not taken charge and left it with the incompetent Edge promoters. As a result, I have filed a complaint with ACCC.

      B&J:

      Hi ____, we're so sorry about this and completely understand where you're coming from. We understand why you've lodged a complaint with ACCC. Regardless, we'll follow up your claim ID to see if we can get an answer from Edge regarding the delay and will get back to you asap.

      Received the following from B&J's Facebook:

      Hi ____, Visa have gotten back to us with the following message:
      "Claim has been validated and vv will be sent shortly."
      We hope this is all resolved for you once and for all!!

      Will update when/if I do get the card. Out of a sample of 1, there is a non-zero probability that contacting their FB page will incrementally move the situation along (unsure if forward or sideways direction). YMMV

    Since they're obviously ignoring our emails, I tried calling Edge Promotions and they refused to help me - no Liam/Laila/Holly/anyone dealing with this promotion (no-one there by those names), escalations/complaints department, supervisor/manager etc. Has anyone heard back from the ACCC? I've forwarded my ACCC complaint to them for what its worth.

        This is what I get as well. Does anyone know what's the channel to complain, apart from bringing it to Consumer Affairs?

        I will bring the issue up to Consumer affairs tomorrow, unless someone had some luck contacting Ben & Jerry :)

        • Ben and Jerry’s facebook whilst responsive are useless. They don’t have access to anything to do with the promo and have to email Edge and wait for responses just like us.
          Fair trading or similar in your state would be best bet I think. I will do my complaint tomorrow when I can write something thoroughly.
