  • excellent! is it for email holders only or for all existing customers?

    • It should be for all account holders I would think.
edit: seems not to be the case

  • is there an official link for this offer?

  • I can't see that offer anywhere…
I have an Orange Everyday account and haven't received an notification of this offer either.
Is it for new customers only?

  • There's not much detail on this - can I deposit 2k, pull it straight out and put it into my normal account?

    • going off previous promotions, the sum of any deposits (from external sources) must be >= $2000 per month. you can recycle money if you need to.

  • I got this via email too. The email is entitled "Your all-access pass to life" - looks a bit like spam or advertising at first. Pretty easy $100. Deposit $2000 in, withdraw $2000 out. Repeat x 3.

Yup any one with an ING Orange a/c should be able to take up this offer. Just to make sure you can always call them on the number on the post.

      • rang them
after long interrogation they told me I was not eligible as I had not got an email

        • thats what i mean, different operator can have different opinion, and that pop up stuff that the someone mentioned earlier, we don't have the link on that pop up, how can we verify it?

  • i got it. if u didnt get it can u call up and aSK 4 it?

  • I didn't get the email too. Checked under "My Offer" and nothing there. Wonder if it's only selected customers?

  • +3

    no its not for everyone.
they told me 'certain custom (who havent use their account much) are targeted'

    • +1

      well that sucks then

      • +1

        :(

        I want free money.

        • yep I don't use my account at all and i got the email..

    • Yeah, I was thinking this could be combined with the bonus $40 but it looks like I probably wouldn't get the email…

    • hmm… I'd think that would be me… but I didn't get the email. :P

    • that explains why I didn't get it then…

    • I use my account all the time!

I usually leave it at $0 balance though, as I use the Orange Everyday as transfer account as doesn't have interest. However, the 50c each per $200+ cash out more than compensates for that!

    • +3

That's it - not touching my ING account for next one year :P

    • Odd. I only have bank accounts with ING and I got the offer.

Maybe it's to do with the amount being deposited each month? My usual monthly deposits are a lot less than $2K.

    • i think every email gets one offer..

if u ve 2 orange accounts and have the same email addy, then u will only get the one offer

  • I received an email with the same offer but different title "Why wait for the weekend?‏".

    EDIT:

    Terms and Conditions

The minimum cumulative deposit amount of $2,000 must be made by the last day of the month (excludes internal transfers from other ING DIRECT accounts and deposits that are not cleared by the last day of the month) in the months of June, July and August. The $100 bonus offer is only available to the addressee of this email and is limited to one account per customer (including joint accounts). Offer is not available to staff of ING DIRECT. The $100 bonus will be paid in the month of September 2011

  • so it's not available to everyone then? Has anyone tried to ask for the offer over the phone?

    • I did
      they would not allow it

  • Fingers crossed, as I've only got around $3.40 in that account that I get an e-mail :D

  • +3

Title of post (to me) is misleading - sounds like deposit $2000 per month, and each month you will get $100 (so potentially $300 for the 3 months) - or is that just me?

    • Just you.

"Starting in June, simply deposit $2,000 each month into your Orange Everyday, and after three months, you'll receive a $100 bonus."

  • +4

Just received the same email as above "Why wait for the weekend". I use ING Direct and my salary is already credited into the account so looks like I will get $100 for doing nothing.

    Screenshot of email

    • thanks for including the screenshot neil :)

    • Mine is completely different to that. Different text, different pictures too.

  • I have got an email. after reading this post. Thanks anyway!

  • Yup, it should be for selected customers. I didn't get one but my partner did. I use mine pretty often but he doesn't use his much.

His salary goes into ANZ though, and he transfers it directly into his Maximizer. Does that mean we can just transfer from ANZ to the Orange Everyday and will be eligible (ie don't have to change the payroll details)?

  • Woohoo, I got the email! This is what happens when you sign up for that previous $40 bonus offer (I was a new customer then) and then not touch your account. Your mileage may vary…

  • +1

Sweet, transfer in from ubank, then right back to ubank for interest, free moneys. Got the email too :)

    • This is what I'll be doing too :P

    • Can anyone confirm that this can be done, i.e. transfer in $2000 and transfer out or you need to hold the money in the account till you get rewarded $100?

      • +1

I have posed this question on their facebook wall, so unless someone rings them up to confirm, we will have to await a response on facebook.

        • yep, let us know how you go.

        • +1

I believe the terms have now been clarified, but this is the (positive) reply I received:

"If you deposit $2000 into your account each month (such as your salary) then you’re eligible to receive this bonus. So, even if your balance goes down during the month as a result of your spending, you’ll still receive the $100 reward after 3 months."

  • Awesome, got the email, $partner and I signed up for the $40 deal months back and haven't used it, this extra $200 will be awesome :D

  • my mother inlaw didnt get the email this is their reply:

Unfortunately this promotion is only available to the clients that received an email specifically about this promotion.

ING DIRECT will from time to time hold promotions or offers for existing clients, and you can view if you are eligible for these through online banking under “My Offers’.

Please let us know if we can assist you further.

    Regards,

    • I got the email - but there is nothing in my account under "My Offers" about this.

      • Same here , maybe it will show up in june?

  • i still have that lazy 2K sitting in the new CBA account with the $100 bonus, time to move it to the ING account!

  • I got this email and I use my account A LOT. its been my main account for ~5 years.. so i dont see why everyone wouldnt get this..

  • Do you get 2 x $100 if you have two ING accounts?

    • Limited to one account per customer

  • +1

Awesome deal, and one of the best ever bank offers. $140 for opening an account and using it, and there were some people who thought it wasnt worth it for $40 for opening an account. There must be a few who already closed their accounts after recieving the $40.

  • I didn't get the email, but have an ING account, how do we get it??

    • You need an Orange Everyday account with the Orange Visa Debit card. Read the OP on setting up one, deal for you is $140.

      • I have that already, but didn't get the email.

    • -1

I am sorry honey, this promotion is only available to victor, not losers. -)

      • +5

Just got off the phone with ING, the lady told me don't have to register or receive any email.
Just transfer $2000/month into account and will get $100 bonus by the end of third month. It's available for anyone who has orange account.
        I guess I am not a loser then :D

  • no basicially no register or whatsoever is needed? no fixed date to deposit? so i can deposit 2000 on 30 June, 2000 on 1st July and 2000 on 31 Aug?

and can i split depositing the $2000 into $1 and $1999?

  • Which account should I transfer the money to?
Is it the saving or cheque account (Everyday account)?

  • Can I take the money out after the first month? Otherwise it's $6000 in there

  • OK, you guys are overcomplicating this. Here are the relevant T&C:

The minimum cumulative deposit amount of $2,000 must be made by the last day of the month (excludes internal transfers from other ING DIRECT accounts and deposits that are not cleared by the last day of the month) in the months of June, July and August. The $100 bonus offer is only available to the addressee of this email and is limited to one account per customer (including joint accounts). Offer is not available to staff of ING DIRECT. The $100 bonus will be paid in the month of September 2011.

A normal user would put the salary in and then take it out to pay bills.

So yes, you can put 2K in every month and do what you want with it.

Your everyday account can be savings or cheque. It doesn't matter. It's still your Everyday account.

No registration. If you got the email then you have qualified. If not, then you won't.

As the T&C says, you need to cumulatively deposit $2K by the end of the month. You can deposit 100 deposits of $20 each or 1 of 2K, doesn't really matter.

    • can i transfer the deposit to the Saving Maximiser A/C? Will be losing interest otherwise…

      • +1

You only need to deposit the money. You can do what you want with it once it's in. Take it all out or don't.

        • thanks that means as long as there's a record of them receiving $2000 every month that will be fine

  • Sadly I just closed my account last week, as I didn't use it for more than a year. And actually received that invitation email today, eventhough I received the closure confirmation on the same mailbox 5 days ago :((

  • i don't think this is a bargain. many times we have read that this is for selected customer that got the invitation, so this is limited offer, not open for everyone. so where is the bargain in here? and most of the people got that email have read already. in fact other people that doesn't get the invitation can't get this offer.

    • See lusical's comment

      Apparently, it's available to anyone.

      • neil, if nothing black and white, how can you prove it to them if they refuse your claim? you can tell them that you called them on this date and this time, not all phone in the call centre is recorded. only some of the calls, random call that they recorded for training purposes and quality control. until they change their term and condition, this is still in the gray area.

        • +1

Well, the lady sounded convincing and knew what she was talking about. And also, if you login to your ING account, there's actually a tiny pop up or flash or whatever it's called showing the same promotion. I have saved that image and also had a print screen showing my account details with the pop up image on it. So if they decided not to give the $100 then I can always take this up to FOS :D
But I am pretty sure they'll have no problem paying me the $100 provided I deposit $2000 every month for 3 months.

        • +2

Ah yes, just tried it out and see the promotion.

Here's the direct picture link, https://www.ingdirect.com.au/Client/Promotions/Images/salary…

joannatan and others who haven't received the email, can you login and see if you have that image there?

        • i've just got an orangutan.

but i block so many things on sites using adblock that i probably wouldn't see it even if it was there :)

over $2k flows through my account as it is, so if i get it then great, but if i don't then i've lost nothing.

  • Maybe those people who don't get the email, had signed up with the option of "Choose not to receive marketing material from ING"? Which means the offer applies to everyone, even those who didn't get the email?

  • I told the lady I saw this pop up/flashy thing on the website and would like to participate. And I asked if I need to register or click any link to qualify. The lady said no, just deposit $2k every month for 3 month and they'll automatically deposit $100 into my account.I can show you guys the image that I saved from the website but I don't know how to upload it here?!

    • but what if there's no pop up/flashy thing on my logined website, am i qualified? coz i've just signed up the account two weeks ago and received my debit card today.. maybe that's y i dont hv that promotion box in my website?

      • Hm..maybe give ING a call and ask? I opened my account few months ago.

    • I can show you guys the image that I saved from the website but I don't know how to upload it here?!

just use http://upload.ozbargain.com/ and post the link

      • Thanks mattgal. I am hopeless with all sort of technology and IT stuffs :D
Neil has posted the image above

  • Just called ING Direct - this offer is only for elligible customers. Meaning you have to have received the email to particpate - just checked T&C's and it does say this too, so looks like no point calling to ask for it as they are covered.
Still though, if you don't have one you can get $40 bonus for opening at the moment, which is pretty cool

  • I found when I logged in to the online, there was an ad promoting this offer. I presume if you see this when logged in, then you are eligible.

  • Forgot my client number etc.
Do I have to ring them up?

    • lol obviously an ing direct power user :)

    • client number is on the back of your orange card.

  • Good deal. Just need to remember to deposit 2k each month.

  • got one in my email

  • Anyone got the email after the 25th? It seems ING sent out the emails on that day.
I haven't got the email. So hoping ING will keep sending them out later.
Anyone gets the email please post. :)

  • I've got 2 Orange accounts but only received one email. Which account should I use?

    • -2

Do you really neeed to ask?

  • yo.. desposited 2000 ytd! 1/3 through the process!

  • +1

the T&C mentions "excludes internal transfers from other ING DIRECT accounts".

What about transferring between ING accounts in different names?

    • thats also what i want to know,
can someone confirm the definition of "internal transfers"?

      • Internal means same bank, so you cant transfer from another ING account that is in a different name. However, i am uncertain if your employer is also with ING and you get paid into your ING account, if this counts as the $2000 amount. Best to contact ING to get an official reply on exactly what counts as an internal/external transfer.

Still not sure why this is, but many banks are requiring a certain monthly amount of money to be transferred from another bank.

  • so sad, i didnt get the email .
