Ooh I don't think you are allowed to lie about the health benefits of those things in Australia. I think you can get away with "May help relieve bronchitis etc". They make a nice gift for the look-cool factor though.

    • Bath Salts

Didn't think they could advertise those as well. Or maybe I've seen too many stories out of Florida.

    • Hi FistOfMonkey

Bath Salts are readily available online and in every chemist and health food shop in the country and many online retailers and wholesales. The Baths Salts we sell are Magnesium Chloride, Epsom Salt and Himalayan Salt. No connection to the stories you speak of out of Florida.

In regards to making dubious medical claims we do not make any statements that these items can cure any medical condition.
The potential health benefits are well known in regards to salt therapy, but with everything there will be differing opinions.

      Hope this helps
      Cheers

      • From the website:

recognised for their ability to relieve symptoms of bronchitis, hay fever, asthma, colds, flu and congestion

Looks like it's making some claims.

  • Hugely overpriced to begin with.
    Not a bargain.
    Lots of competetive sites.
Another over-hyped health craze yet to reach it zenith.
Even a cursory look on the internet and you will find cheaper, bigger range etc., at other websites making the same dubious claims.
    Eg,.: https://www.himalayansaltfactory.com.au/product-category/him…
How is this not a "health claim"
"The sodium in pure, natural salt is effectively utilised and regulated by the body, unlike the sodium in processed table salt which burdens the body and is linked to many health issues."
    In reality:
    https://www.fooducate.com/community/post/Himalayan%20Salt%20…
    https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/315081.php
    https://www.heart.org/en/healthy-living/healthy-eating/eat-s…
So I call B.S. on that claim.

P.S. What a rubbish image/logo of a healthy person image, overlaid with lungs-anatomy and hands-on-chest pose implying "breath pure".

    Hi Marco

Thanks for the personal attacks, and for sending the articles you quickly googled to make your case. I was unaware you an expert in the field.

Id sit here and argue your incredible intellect but the fact that you fill in your Saturday nights attacking people on a discounts website tells me all i need to know.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend alone with your utter hatred for Himalayan Salt Lamps.

    Hope this helps
    Cheers

P.S Just wondering what you have ever created? Easy to criticise when you've got nothing ey. Just that jealous chip on your shoulder. No B.S on that claim.

Why don't you do us a favour and educate us with some links to research papers showing the benefits of Himalayan salt lamps. There's research on negative ions, and I imagine some on salt therapy, but I haven't seen any evidence that salt lamps offer either of those effects.

You have to understand that people get annoyed when they think they see people selling snake oil, especially on our beloved ozB, check out some of the low-carb posts if you want to see people picking apart products.

I personally think that salt lamps look cool, and I have no problem with people buying them for the aesthetic. I have however seen evidence that they don't work as described. But as always, I'm open to seeing the opposite evidence.

Worth a watch regardless of interest in these lamps or not.
