While it's not from this seller, I purchased a 9020 off ebay, and one of the fins on the cpu fan was broken so there was a whistling sound at high speeds and there was some disconnection re-connection device sound which kept on popping up, which I couldn't fix and just disabled the audio sound. Apart from that, the device did work.

Just something to be aware of with refurbished devices.

    • From my massive sample of one purchase, these guys do seem good. The item was clearly used, but everything worked OK, good condition, and was well packed. But yeah…one sample from 1 =p

    • Nothing a few bucks wouldn't fix; new fan and a USB sound card. Was it at least a good deal?

cant replace Dell fans without getting errors on boot "press F1, fan failure" Dell proprietry fans have a sensor inside them. total pain in the ass

        • Speaking from my own experience with an 9020 sff, the connector for the fans is 5 pin and non-standard but there is nothing unique about the fan. You can also easily get 5 pin fan adapters for them very cheap on ebay.

Provided the replacement fan you use signals rpm to the motherboard correctly, with one of those adapters you won't get bios errors. You need to have a fan connected to both CPU and chassis fan connectors to avoid errors.

      • They offered to replace the cpu fan, which I could of disassembled and replaced myself. However, as I was travelling at the time, and it could only be heard when the fan speed spins up. I decided not to bother. The price was alright, $225 for the 9020.

Did you contact them? I bought a Surface. The listing said it didn't come with the pen, but I missed that part and emailed them to ask if it was included. They replied and said normally it isn't, but they have some, so they would throw it in. It arrived without the pen, but I contacted them and they sent it after. It came with a third party charger that caused issues with the touch display, so they replaced that too. Now I have a spare charger that I can use to charge when I'm not actively using the device.

I found their after sales service was great.

Been using these guys for clients who are on too tight a budget for newer computers where old systems fit their requirements. Have had a few bent in due to poor packaging (they always wrap the sides not front and back with bubble wrap !?!) but they’ve always been good if slow to get it replaced. One thing to be aware of though is they are really crap with descriptions and titles not matching especially on RAM capacity or video card config so you need to verify exactly what ou are getting if there is a mismatch. The systems received (over 10) so far have been solid and reliable so we’ve either been lucky or they test the machines well to pick out the junk. Two year warranty for $79 is ok if you need peace of mind.

  • can you add any cheap video card for it run games like cs, dota? or is it good enough just on it's own maybe? I understand with few hundred dollars more I can get machine that's dedicated for gaming, only asking coz this seems like a smallish machine which I would prefer. TIA

    • My mate did this but had to get a new case because his video card was full size, you might need like a mini 1050 with a flexible raiser cable

Definitely will need a video card to run those games. I'm thinking about getting a low profile gt 1030 for mine which costs around $100. Look here for more opinions.

  • I bought similar spec-ed HP for far less ($170) last year from a similar seller, i5 gen 4, 240 SSD

    • If it's still available could you link it?

  • The machine I acquired through here for a collegue has worked well. I wasn't 100% happy about the condition, there were more scratches and marks than I would have liked. The hard drive that came with it either was close to failure or the image copied onto it was copied poorly, as it threw errors when I transferred data from it to a larger hard drive. Otherwise, it's a good price for a solid low end PC.

    I want this for plex

  • Had one of these for a parents pc. They are great and speedy, although the SSD died in the first 6 Months which was annoying. Swapped in a new one and it was a-aok afterwards.

I purchased a refurbished hp elitedesk 800 g1 and it died about 6 months after I bought it. Be careful with these second hand computers.

  • Bought one a year ago. All good

  • Bought a similar spec on UFF from these guys a year ago and it has been great for kids to play minecraft and watching YouTube.

  • are these able to play smoothly 1080p and 4k hev/h265 10 bit videos?

    • its an i5 with integrated graphics, so should be fine for 1080p, 4k might be different as depends on generation that supported 4k

      • so is this generation of i5 3570 support 4k and 1080 h265 10 bit or not?

        • have a look on the motherboard specs

  • Gotta be honest, there are a decent number of better deals out there.

I just bought a refurbed HP ProDesk i5 4590, 8gb RAM, 128gb Ssd for $220 delivered through another eBay seller - for my folks. I have one myself with a low profile gtx1050, and it does far better than a ~$400 machine has any right to.

An i5 45xx is somewhat more powerful, but also a newer machine (important when you're considering second hand). I'd keep looking, even after 20% coupons (and their price jacking) disappears.

    • Could you link it? Might cancel my order if it's indeed a better deal.

It won't let me drop a link in to the eBay item in my comment? (Referral link apparently? Sorry, I'm new to posting).

In any case looks like they've increased the price since I bought 10 days ago, and it's now ~$250 shipped… Hopefully the prices come back down in a week or two

  • Can I add an additional SSD or HDD into this machine?
