  • Much appreciated if anyone who has these can share some experience

    • Since it seems there are few opinions.
I will give you a opinion from having listened to a different model by Edifier.

Edifier’s typically have a slightly V-shaped sound signature (bass and highs accentuated).
They all have bass and treble adjustment knobs so they can be tuned differently but there is always a limit to how much this adjustment can change the sound. The typical Edifier cabinet design is with an upward facing angle built-in.
The S1000db has titanium-dome tweeters which are typically on the bright / sibilant side and at higher volumes you may find them harsh and fatiguing (affects your ability to listen to them for longer periods), and uses a typical cross-over as far as I can tell. Woofer is a 5.5-inch aluminium cone driver (nice tight, precise controlled sound).
It comes with a remote control for easy basic control from a distance, and also has all the inputs you will need (2x RCA / coaxial digital / optical digital / Bluetooth).
It is worth mentioning Bluetooth is Apt-X codec which is well-below CD quality (Edifier’s website claims its CD quality).
Other than that I would say the woofers could do with more amplification, but for most needs they will get loud enough.

S1000db has been updated into 2 other newer models which use some different components so they are referred to as the S2000Pro and the S3000Pro.

The S2000Pro has a planar-diaphragm tweeter (with wave-guide) instead of titanium dome, the sound should be more detailed and without the harshness of a titanium-dome (the wave-guide helps to control the dispersion of sound, to direct and reduce sound reflecting around the room to give you a ‘cleaner’ sound).
It also adds Balanced XLR inputs (professional-audio connection), and the components (DAC / DSP cross-over / amplifiers) have been upgraded.
S2000Pro comes with a larger remote (I would personally prefer the smaller remote of the S1000db).
Everything else is the same as the S1000db (cabinet / same size aluminium woofer / Bluetooth connection / 48hz-20khz frequency response). The balanced XLR input replaces one of the RCA inputs (PC) on the back.
The S2000Pro should sound cleaner, more detailed & get louder than the S1000db.
      (Although with the power ratings: S1000db is [tweeter 25w x 2, woofer 30w x 2] and S2000Pro [12w x 2, 50w x 2],
S2000Pro will get louder thanks to 50w x 2 for the woofer, and the Planar-tweeter will be more efficient therefore it requires less power).
Edit: S2000Pro also has 4 EQ modes (from DSP) to have additional control over the sound-signature.

The S3000Pro is quite a upgrade and also in a different price-range (double the cost of S2000Pro).
The built-in upward facing cabinet design is gone (they sit flat as most speakers should, so you have the option to angle them).
They have the same planar tweeters as the S2000Pro with a larger aluminium-cone woofer at 6.5 inches in diameter (better low-end extension).
They also have Bluetooth 5.0 and supported Apt-X HD codec to achieve near CD quality Bluetooth audio.
The S3000Pro speakers also connect wirelessly with each other (the S1000db and S2000Pro come with 5m cable to connect the two together).
There are also more adjustment options available in the on-board DSP to tune the sound (which in reviews say makes the speaker actually sound comparable to other speakers in its range).
(Stylish remote also has additional buttons to control the DSP sound options)
On top of the Balanced input of the S2000Pro, the S3000Pro adds a USB input.
With a greater frequency range of 38hz-40khz & higher power output the S3000Pro is a significant upgrade to the S2000Pro.
With the S3000Pro there is more overall control over the sound-signature and with more amplification they will sound better at higher volumes than the S2000Pro.

Hopefully this gives you an idea of what is right for you.

S3000Pro and S2000Pro have the same 4 EQ modes from the DSP, in addition to the Bass & Treble controls.
