Good price, and generally a good airline. But the last time I used one of their specials, booked directly with Cathay, I was unable to check in online because of some inexplicable error. I ended up having to make frantic phone calls in the middle of the night and the next day, out of fear I would not be able to depart at all. Their support line was no help whatsoever (and impossible to understand), could not explain the issue, and their advice (I kid you not) was "just go to the airport and hope that everything is okay".
Well, turns out it was okay, but not a relaxing start to a trip.

    • Thanks for sharing. All airlines are the same.

    • Was your booking ticketed? If so there was no real reason to panic really - but glad it worked out.

    • I don't get why your calling them at all.
Just goto the aiport and checki
on the day. Online checkin is just an optional thing.
Cathay was probabaly just as confused as I am as to why your frantically calling them

      • I don't care about online check-in - I care about whether I have a seat at all. If "computer says no", all bets are off. They could not tell me whether my reservation was ok.
