    Notebookcheck Review

    Note:-

    • The review unit has a 2TB HDD alongside the SSD which this does not.
    • The review unit uses a 144Hz display, but there's no mention of it in the deal.

Just note that they don't always come with the nice 144hz panels like their review - bought one of these earlier in the year and had to return it as it had a very inferior 60hz panel in it, and also was missing the proprietary cable for connecting SATA drives (apparently normal here for units configured with a single M.2 drive).

      • Thanks for sharing your experience. Added it as a note cause the deal doesn't seem to have any mentions of a 144Hz display.

      • Thanks for the heads up. I was eyeing this last night and a lot of my decision was based on adding a HDD in.

        • Does it have a second m2 slot?

@heal: Don't think so - I should also add this was a refurbished unit that didn't come in original packaging - according to the internets european models come with the cable in the retail packaging if there's no second drive included.. I have no idea if this translates to AU or not..

Hey LoveOnBoi, why did you remove this listing (despite having 10 items in stock) and simultaneously remove all the remaining stock (4 items) from this listing this morning?

    • Hi @duckman, we dont have stock left thats why we removed it.

  • I think OP has the best price:performance. But if you don't need a 1060 and want something cheaper:

    Grays have 2 refurbished Y530s with a 1050, 128gb SSD and 1TB HDD for $1119:

I think the Dell G3 with the same i7 but 8GB ram and a 1050Ti for $1143 is also good. Chunkier bezels though:

I bought a brand new Y530 with the same specs as the Gray's refurbished model for $1100 from Lenovo a couple of months ago. Absolutely love it and highly recommended.

1060 6GB GDDR5 really should be listed in the summary for a gaming laptop.

Can you flip the screen totally to use it like a tablet and take notes in lectures, etc? I was looking at the X1 extreme but it won't flip, you have to lay it platy and have your arm across the keyboard whilst you use the pen.

OP, I'd grab one straight away if you brought this deal back

No, it only goes to 180 flat and there is no touch screen.

      • Thanks, I'll hang out for a Yoga 720 or 730.

My son is saving his money, so if a good enough deal comes along I'll spot him but otherwise I'll wait. Could even hold off until Cyber Monday later in the year.

  • I like the look of this (just the question of if you can add HDD).

I've been waiting for the 1660 ti to be released in laptops, and then don't mind paying more >$2000. But tempted to buy in to the 10 series late in the cycle because of lower cost, better value.

an 16GB single channel memory configuration is trash in performance wise compared to having dual channel
