  • Says $1250 on the website?

    • Which would appear to be the discounted price. $150 off..

    • Actually we have included single supplementary price of $150 in excluded services. This means if you come alone then the price is $1400 but if you come in group we will provide discount of $150 per person and reduces to $1250.

Everest Base Camp Trek from US

    πŸ˜“ πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ πŸ˜“

    • Don't blame the OP. The original title was a bigger mess than my edit. It is clearer now. I've never like putting a space between the currency unit and the currency symbol for this reason. (Just curious, why didn't you fix up the title?)

      • Thanks for your suggestion. It is very important for us.This is the first time we are here. Sorry for any confusion.

    • Are you interested? We will send you with experienced and strong guide we have in our team.

  • What's the usual price?

    • Nepal government has just recently increased the tax and also started to collect fees from Porter and Guide. This also resulted increase in price of food menu, flight fare. Tea house accommodation also increased based on per head count. So the cost hiked. But before this change the usual price was $1180 per person coming in group.

          Stop begging him.

Join a local tour and it’s 1/3 of the cost. The money will actually go to the community. Their itiernery is bogus At. First 2 days and last 3 days isn’t really anything.

Joining a tour like this will guarantee you get altitude sickness.

    • I have enough trouble with sea-level sickness.

Yep valid point, not enough acclimatisation time, if you don't adjust they will leave you behind. I spent 5 weeks in the region on a trek, you must take your time for your own safety.

    • Sorry for late reply. I must say we have managed two day for acclimatization,it is in Namche Bazzar and Dingboche. If anyone wants more days for acclimatization then we will manage based on their requirements. We want safety of travelers more than anything. Our goal is to provide trip service more than trip price.

Cheap because they don't expect you will use the return flight.

  • Much cheaper way to explore Kathmandu http://bit.ly/visitkathmandu

  • It's not that cheap tbh. Mine was 850 AUD after 15% Cashrewards Groupon cash back. "14" day tour, no meals except breakfast in KTM

    • Good experience?

      • +1

        Yeah was great!!!

    • We have 16 days of trek with sight seen tour in Kathmandu with guide. We have included accommodation, foods thrice in a day.We have included 3 night hotel stay in Kathmandu. That price was long before, now government has increased tax and travel expensive.

  • Go with Ace the Himalaya, they are the best trekking group and they come up on Groupon often at $990

    • +1

Booked essentially this with 15% cash back.

    • -1

The price now has changed. The package included in Groupon by Ace The Himalaya doesn't induce meals in mountain, accommodation in mountain. If you check their website, you will find the 14 day trip will cost $1450.

      • Ace is only AU$1099 on Groupon before any Cashback.

You can add full meal service for all days in the mountain for AU$350 so still much cheaper than paying US dollars. Also Ace is rated #1 on Trip Adviser and I can see why.

        • Ok I admire your thoughts.I donot know when they added that info on Groupon. But if you check their website, you will find that I have spoken truth.

For anyone actually serious about this they would know to contact Rinji Sherpa on Facebook. They're all on the way to EBC now. At most it would be around $500AUD. Especially if you go around… 8 days ago as all the teams are on the way to EBC now. They all met in Kathmandu on the 31st. Split between Kath > Lukla or Kath > Tibet.

    Other reputable guides:
    IMG
    Maddison Mountaineering
    Adventure high mountains

You can also do an 18 day EBC - Cho Oyu - Makalu trek. That would be awesome to do!

I'm now hearing some guides are doing an autumn expedition too for the first time. so cheap to go around that time too.

Might be going to Nepal next year with plenty of time, is it worth going on a tour to EBC or can you just hike it yourself staying in guest houses in the way?

    • Would recommend at least sourcing your own private guide. I posted to a private Facebook group recently my trip photos and 1 guy recounted how he got lost for 12 hours in a pass, another guy recounted their group finding a guy who had been stumbling around base camp for 24 hours after getting disoriented in a dust storm.

If anything also booking flights between Kathmandu-Lukla is expensive compared to what the local guides can get you. My guide (went with a company) could get the flights for less than half the RRP of 179 USD one way

      • Thanks mate, appreciated

    • I think you should at least hire porter.I don't say it is compulsory to hire guide or go through trekking company. If you get porter, they can provide some information and help to carry your bags.
