  • Pixel can be had for $499 brand new, if you can find a telstra staff member nice enough to help you out. The S9 seems like an okay deal, S9+ would be more fitting now imo. Not much difference between the s8 and s9.

Is the $499 Telstra deal for a new outright Pixel 2? If so, what's the key to securing it?

      • All Telstra staff members have access to an insider deal that lets them purchase the Pixel 2 outright for $499. There has been a few staff members on here securing the phones for others.

its like saying apple staff or jb staff have access to staff rates, so find a staff and request them to forward you those staff rates. best of luck with that

@Frayin: Not sure why the negs…
I guess you just need to understand that you were very lucky to get an employee to do that. Because they can lose their job if they are caught out..

    • agree, second hand s9+ would have to be in teh realms of $500-$600

      • Well it's dropped from $669 to $644 in a week. Give it a month and it will be down to $544 at that rate…

    • How much do the staff member charge you "commission" for helping you out??

      • Nothing. The deal came with a google mini. The "commission" was they got to keep the google mini. So they got to keep exactly what they paid for. $499 for google pixel 2 + free google mini, they keep the google mini. Not rocket science to everyone so opposed to the deal.

        • I guess that's fair.

Reason why I ask is because people were charging $100+ commission if they want the S10 from the EPP program

Hi mate. just saw the post and replied. Its common sense to contact us first instead of posting it as a thread and hoping me or someone from the company will read and respond to it :)

        good response.

Going forward you can probably subscribe to 'phonebot' notifications and that will ping you i believe.
I haven't used this feature myself.

        • Nw will do

      • from what i read on that post, it seems like a genuine mistake and they have rectified it. I have bought a few things (not refurb phones) from them and shipping and service has been excellent.

        • thanks for your fb. enjoy

        What about this thread?

Samsung refused to take it for warranty as the phone has been modified / tampered with. They said it has an Australian model rear glass and telstra flashed firmware but the main board on phone is a dual sim overseas version. They said it seems to have been made of parts from multiple phones and is void of Samsung warranty.

They had to take it to Samsung because apparently you would not reply to their emails then claim their money back through Paypal as I am assuming you still didn't reply.

So by the sound of that its a bit rich to say:

Its common sense to contact us first

Did you replace the phone or did you refuse to provide any further customer service and wait for the Paypal claim to resolve itself?

An item is not "Like New" just because it has no scratches when it has been Frankensteined from other phones.

        • Yup customer has been fully refunded and its been resolved. We get 100's of phones everyday and all phones are tested for functionality. We dont get history of each phone and what work was done on it much like a used car. Thats why we give warranty so if somethings wrong on it, we can sort it out.

Bit of a worry a stolen phone can make its way into your supply chain.

I'd want to clarify that really quickly. I'm personally not a fan of companies that don't look too hard at where their merchandise comes from.

        • it's more than a bit of a worry. I'm actually in the market for an S9 and buying one these was high on my list but i think i'll be passing - i don't want the worry of wondering if my phone will be IMEI blocked in the future.

        • it was lost OR stolen. not necessarily stolen

It’s also a common sense to check the legitimation of the item first before putting it in the display for sale. But I guess common sense is not so common.

        • ya i do apologize for it
