    I got one now at Oxley store in Brisbane, said no stock online in store, but I called them and they had one on shelf. The online stock and computer stock numbers are wrong. Some stores should have one set if not sold.

    Grr, I snoozed and lost. Whilst deliberating and looking up exactly which knives come in the Furi set, I lost out on Caringbah pick up.

    So, I then realised that everything but the east-west knife and the sharpener could be ordered individually, for a total cost of just above $50 (And you do have gift cards that give you 5-7% off of that, too, right? :-)

    I don't mind excuses to wander the Sydney metro region, so I managed to find the individual pieces at 3 shops, two of which are near places I regularly go, and one of which will be a bit of an adventure to get to.

    Good knives but knife sets are such a waste. You get a smaller than average cooks knife, an alright bread knife and a bunch of knives you'll never use.

      Global is super quality.
      Furi is high quality.
      But you only need one set.
      Furi is really good and I would be happy with furi. I have a few Furi knives
      I have global knives as well.

          Furi set is great as well. Congrats for the find. You know furi RRP is $550 right? Lol
          I would diffinitely cut meat with them. As for bones, not so much, you need cleaver for that. Lakeland sells cleaver $10 each, was like $50-$60)

          Try this Stainless steel Gyuto made in Japan, I have one, quite ok though doesnt hold edge as well as my $200 carbon steel one.
          nice and sharp, will cut your pork belly easy…

            @KangaBanga: I like the way you think…. had a look at the knife. Does it have a rubber handle and what method of sharpening do you effect?
            As to carbon steel knives… yum… always a killer edge. Shame about the dang' tarnishing but the cut after sharpened… so satisfying!

    Made online order for pick up at Dubbo, confirmed with store that knives order went through and kept for me available to pick up. The employees then become very defensive after they saw my billing address about having to have me pick it up personally and not a relative/friend/professional delivery company/Airtasker/even my lawyer pick it up with a letter of authorization/power of attorney. They also sounded evasive about things and panicky at the same time that the sales ends on Monday and keeps telling me that and asking me if I knew where Dubbo was. Like Duh-bbo? They attribute it to “PayPal” which only allows myself to pick up if payment made that way, is that true?

    At the end of calls they always try to ask me if I want to cancel the knives order in a firm and pushy stance and not try to make it possible for me to have them even though I said I would pick it up if no other way - do they want to buy it for themselves while they’re still on sale or they just find me asking too much?
