  • Looks like normal price is $129. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/323312737957

    • What? You're telling me the RRP is overly inflated and shouldn't be used as a reference of how killer a deal I am getting?

      • -2

Online price is normally $129 but RRP is $219.

          Online price is normally $129

          Thanks for comfirming that.

          Now read this: https://www.accc.gov.au/publications/advertising-selling/adv…

Businesses using statements such as 'savings' or 'discounts' when comparing a sale price to the RRP of goods and services may convey to potential customers that they are getting a good deal because the sale price is less than the RRP. If the product has never been previously sold at the RRP, or the RRP does not reflect a current market price, then this type of comparison may, depending on the circumstances, misrepresent the savings that may be achieved.

          And this: https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/prices-surcharges-receipts…

          Misleading prices may include:
‘savings’ or ‘discount’ statements when compared to the recommended retail price (RRP), but the goods have never been sold at the RRP or the RRP does not reflect a current market price.

          • @m9: It's interesting the use of 'never', which gives the seller an out. Sell it at RRP once with proof, then drop to your online price but claim the discount is from RRP because you've not never sold it at that price.

            • @DeepDreamer:

              • a ‘before’, ‘was’ or ‘strike through’ price that is not the price those items were sold for in a reasonable period immediately before the sale period started
              • a ‘before’, ‘was’ or ‘strike through’ price where only a limited proportion of sales were at the higher price in a reasonable period immediately before the sale period started

              More from the links above.

        • You need to do one of those.
          RRP, Was, Now pricing…

    • +1

Also $129 according to Google cache.

Rep, stop comparing with RRP if you have never sold it at that price.
