You will get it even cheaper on Easter sale
You won't happen to know how much cheaper?.
I am guessing for $349
The 46mm is better and goes on sale for $429 at rebel sometimes, also new watches are coming soon from Samsung which will lower the price of these or make them obsolete in comparison.
The only thing coming/came is the samsung galaxy watch active. Nothing is on the horizon for some time.
is it heavier? I tried my friends S3 watch (unsure of size) and thought it was heavy. Given my active lifestyle, I'm more interested in the sports or active watch.
No, the active is ligheter and less bulky.
@JAKEBAB: Yeah but still undecided me. OCD me likes the dial on the sports but the price tag is a bit much for me. I might just not get any and pick up an Amazfit or a Xiaomi band 3
that thing is massive.
If she works out, and expect to have a working HR monitor, then don't bother!

I struggled with this issue since the day I bought Samsung Watch 4G (even pre-ordered it!). It never, ever worked reliably. After much trouble and threatening Samsung with a Consumer Affairs complaint, they agreed to issue a full refund (still waiting for it). I swore I would never, ever buy another Samsung product!
I bought a Fitbit Charge 3 (on sale at Good Guys ebay atm) and it works 100% as advertised! It even counts floors and steps properly, not to mention sleep tracking. If your wife needs a fitness tracking device DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG!!! (this coming from an (ex) Samsung fan.
Bought the rose gold bluetooth version last week for my wife. $355 price matched at Rebel with Catch Of The Day. Unfortunately Officeworks (pricebeat) didn't have any stock near me.
Read my comment above and forum posts. If your wife expects HR monitor to work, I'd return immediately. Samsung has not had HR working properly on S3 and Watch for the last two years!
Mine seems to work fine. I've compared my wife's Garmin vivomove HR(?), my s2 and my s3 and also the grips on the machine I use and all seem within 10bps of each other. I tend to do HIIT stuff. And I really sweat. Like I think about getting on the cross trainer and sweats running down my back. It's unfortunate that yours seems to not work, but I've never come across it.
Have a look at the two Forum threads that I've linked above. There is an army of people complaining about HR not working.
If it works for you, I'm happy as it didn't for so many. Samsung has dropped the ball on their software. Hardware is great though.
Not an issue for her.
Am I weird for taking off my watch when going to the gym because I don't want to get the thing sweaty?
Easy enough to wash. I take mine off for weights training though… Don't want to risk a heavy knock or scrape
Wear and tear on the band though. I've gone through three bands on my Gear S2 already.
Every time you take it off and put it on you are putting stress on the bands. They eventually tore off.
I wouldn’t recommend it. Bought 2. But 42 rose gold battery is terrible. 46 battery is good but both have issues of counting activities.
If you want one for sure , I would recommend cellular, it can go with you to anywhere at anytime. A almost replacement of your phone. But Wi-Fi…. how about a Fitbit? And cheaper?
I'm after a the 42 bluetooth model. do the others have a dial? that's what im after.
There is the Xiaomi band 3 but no nfc support for gpay makes it sad.
Bought one for $349 at JB Hi-Fi by price matching with Tobydeals.
I am really really tempted at this price…
Can anyone give me a really good reason why I shouldn't buy one for me and my wife?
