Found this deal in Amazon US - Arlo Lights (3 pack) for USD134 (paid via 28 degrees - mine was showing AUD189.85) which i believe quite cheap (works out to be around AUD190, plus maybe another AUD60 - AUD70 for delivery using 3rd party forwarder). I think the 2 lights pack here usually sells for AUD400 (RRP).

Update : It seems that this cna be send directly to Australia but you will need to use a street address (i.e. not parcel locker or parcel collect). GST + Delivery charge works out to be around AUD50.

Can be delivered for total cost of just under AUD250 - which i think it is a good deal (i think you can only get 1 light + bridge for the same cost in Australia).

  • Is the bridge a requirement to link the lights to the base station?

Edit: Yes "The Arlo Bridge must be used to connect your Arlo Security Light to your home WiFi."

This deal is only good if you are buying the bridge separately or already have the bridge for the lights.

This item ships to Australia so no need for a freight forwarder. Amazon's shipping costs are much lower.

    • no. try to check out!

      • I did. Can ship from Amazon directly. Approx $27au shipping costs.

Worked for me with a Sydney address.

        • +1

Yeah, worked for me too at a Sydney address but not at a rural address.

        • Strange - I could not send mine directly to Australia so I had to get mine shipped via a freight forwarder. Lucky you !

          • +1

@obiwanmy: Worked for me as well. Can ship to Melbourne.

          • +1

@obiwanmy: me neither. sydney address (not a rural address)

Seems you can if you use a street address i.e. not a parcel collect.

  • On the side of the listing (start imagining 3 of these in your living room)

Add voice control by combining with an Alexa device

Echo Dot (3rd Gen) - New and improved smart speaker with Alexa - Heather Gray
    Required

    Total Price: $179.97
    Add both to Cart

“Alexa, turn on living room lights.”

    • If lighting is the requirement. Wait for a deal on LIFX downlights or bulbs. I got the 100mm downlights for about $54 each. They work with Alexa well and you get the added benefits of dimming and changing colors

  • Can anyone recommend a good, cheap freight forwarder?

Try shop n ship. Owned by aramax(frieght company) & usually cheaper than others. I have compared with myus.com only though

  • So even if you already run a base station setup with cameras, you still need that bridge to connect?
I wonder if rechargeable batteries are included, or just standard ones.

    • Rechargeables are included

      • Thanks - that makes it a better deal, good rechargeables are pretty expensive.

  • $250 delivered using Amazon Currency Converter.

I have 5 cameras, 1 doorbell and 1 chime, still not sure if I need these and have to recharge even more batteries.

    • Yup, recharging is a pain. "only" 4 camera here… tempted to get these.

      • I have 5 cameras myself - in terms of rechargable, i charge these in office :)

  • No magnetic mount option. That makes it slightly more annoying to mount easily indoors.

    • Yeah that's no good…are those mounting brackets included then?

      • Yeah they should be

Do arlo lights need its own bridge or it can just hook on to exiting alto camera bridge?

  • Cheers for the share op. Just bought on. $250AUD including shipping to Australia (Mel) via amazon.

    • Just to add - these lights are amazing because of how you can control the arlo pro cameras with them and IFTTT integrations. Not to mention, they are wirefree. You can potentially move them around whenever wherever needed. This also solves that dreaded delayed recording issues.

For others wondering, you do not need to buy a bridge. This pack includes one.

      • Where does it say it includes the bridge? When you click style - light and bridge price goes up to $195 USD. The $135 price appears to be for the lights only.

      • The $135 price doesn't include the bridge from what I can see. You can buy the bridge separately which brings the total cost to $195.

        • So can you use the existing hub that comes with the Arlo Pro 2 cameras?

          • +1

@nightelves: For connection to your existing Arlo Pro Cam
Arlo light Bridge > WiFi Network
Arlo Pro Cam base station > WiFi Network
Both Bridge and Base station interact with each other via the WiFi network.

            For just the Arlo light
Arlo light Bridge > WiFi Network

Regardless, you will need the Arlo Light Bridge for it to work.

NOTE: The 1/2/3 light kit version come with the Bridge.

      • so these lights used combined with cameras to assist with filming at night?

Elaborate on how the Arlo system or Smart Home system is better with these?

Genuinely interested. I have a "dumb" sensor light for the front door that always trigger a false positive so I never have it on. The night vision on the cameras are defence also (Have the Arlo Pro)

  • Have to pay $60 USD extra for the bridge, killed the deal for me

    • No you don’t. At least not if product number is correct. See newegg link above.

  • Just in case anyone is wondering - the new arvo UHD cameras have a light integrated into them - although they are currently having software issues and had to delay the launch until this month

    • Yeah but aren't they like $500 each or something?

  • According to the spec sheet for the product (ALS1103) it does include the bridge. I'm as confused as eveyone else though! It would seem unlikely that they would sell a 3 pack without a bridge.

    • +1

From Arlo website it seems a bridge is included.

  • Do you need to pay a fee to run these?

    • My biggest gripe with Arlo is their paid features which should come standard. Also most their paid features don't work well (I trialled them for a month and my dog kept triggering motion even with "pet detection" on. Also activity zones shouldn't be a paid subscription feature)

  • Thanks OP! Got a set.

As these lights use the same batteries as my Arlo Pro 2 and can charge the batteries as well, I may keep one light indoors just as a spare battery charger. $80 is a pretty good price for a spare battery and charger.

  • Thanks OP, bought the 3 packs using my 28 degree card, and Amazon US delivered directly to Australia.
I try to buy the 3 packs with extra battery, but they're not delivering it to Australia.

  • any idea if the bridge works on Australian voltage 230-240V?

  • The price has dropped even more to 130 usd!

  • +1

Okay mine arrived today - i can confirm it works in Australian voltage (need to get a US to AUS plug though) and bridge is also included in case those of you are unsure whether the bridge needs to be purchased separately. I bought mine with the extra battery and used a freight forwarder. Extra battery seems to be quite worth it considering it is sold for AUD85 stand alone. Total I paid was around AUD260 a set of 3 lights, bridge and 1 extra battery.

Set up was fairly simple although one of it initially had an issue, and had to resync it three times before it eventually work.

Note that the lights is not counted into the Arlo limit therefore no need to worry if you exceed the 5 camera limit before you need to pay the extra subscription.
