  • 3x came to 135 for me :(

    • +4

You gotta go through to checkout

    • Is it possible you unintentionally selected 4x?
Four of them equals exactly $135 for me.

Edit: Could be the option above too, that you didn't go all the way through to checkout.

      • +1

yeah my bad, it only shows at checkout - not when its in the cart.

        Thanks

  • 3x came to $91.25 for me :)

    • Did you have a $10 voucher/credit from elsewhere?

      • nope, and I don't have Prime.

  • -1

    Wow that's cheap

  • +6

Have a bunch of these for interior.

They work great with USB C to DC barrel cords instead of having to use power brick

    • What voltage are you running them at?

I find they seem to be dropping frames when there is rapid movement, even though they don't seem to be reporting a drop in frames.

      • +2

        9v

        • +1

What is the size for DC barrel? :)

    • Why do you want cameras inside? Genuinely curious.

      • +13

Kids rooms, nursery, 3D printer, pet cat

        • -1

Why camera for a 3D printer?

          • +6

@PainToad: Monitor remotely. Bail on the print if it’s failing.

            • +2

@pyr0: Yep, check prints are going fine if I'm out of the house.

Most have built-in cameras now but A1 has weird position and low frame rate

              • +7

@impoze: Who are you calling weird???

      • I use c120 around the house (static version of these, same api) because they have reasonable zone / line based triggering I can feed into home assistant and use it to manage lighting / fans / aircon based on occupancy.

      • +3

I keep my C210 next to windows as pseudo outdoor camera :D

    • -1

Center pin power I am guessing? Got any links by chance?

  • +1

I really can't see a lot of difference between these and the C210 model, apart from the colour: Comparison

    Am I missing something?

    • +2

They are the same. Just a different model number for black and white

      • Thanks :-)

TP-Link do mention "Image Enhancement 3D DNR WDR" for the C211 but NOT for C210.
Further digging on the forums reveals a TP-Link rep confirming the only difference is the colour shell.

I am glad I got the 2 packs for $44 of white ones at Bunnings a little while ago.

    • black=pro

      • blacks can't zoom actually.

        • racist!!

  • +4

    Coco, no! Sit down!

  • I don't know if Tapo is any good. Bought the doorbell kit for my parents and it can be delayed up to 1min for the doorbell to register on the app on the phone!

    • +1

Lights and power switches work well…

    • It’s more likely the internet connection at the house bro, mine works instantly

  • Is this good for spying on a friend? Asking for a friend's friend.

    • Yeah, nah.

    • +3

It’s good for spying friend’s friend but not good for friends.

  • -1

Comes up as single camera. OOS?

  • this little cameras are awesome.

  • These seem highly optimised for indoor usage, based on the specifications. Or rather, they'll suffer quite a bit if you even so much as point them out a window on a windy day. (Or throw a bunch of confetti in front of it…)

3 megapixel non-starlight sensor, 15fps, H264 only. Should only be used for static indoor scenes, as any large movement is likely to spike the bitrate like mad or run up against whatever target they have set.

Although the spec sheet could be wrong about the encoding, as the SoC does have H265 encode as well.

I probably would have taken these apart and reflashed them if I needed indoor cameras though.

    • +3

I use one pointed out of a window and it is fine.

Anyone intending to point a camera through a window shouldn't be expecting anything, it's what you shouldn't do 101 unless you have low requirements.

    • seen one pointed outdoor at neighbour’s place and its alright, even during the nighttime. They have C211 not C210 if that makes any difference.

    • +3

here's some shots when used outdoors. I am only showing adverse recording situations because that's what this comment was about, day time images can look really good . I think it depends on your requirements. I would say you can roughly describe cars and people but not enough quality to definitively identify due to lower quality.

Night shots in rain and Temu delivery

      • Yeah, a little bit of blocking here and there but not quite as bad as I thought it would be.

  • Anything that is battery and wireless?

    Also do these need subscription?

    • No sub required for basic applications

Whatever you go for if going battery, ideally get one with solar power recharging - but beware of limitations such as much slower and more limited detection - and typically slower remote access.

The best Wi-Fi Security Camera shared with friends in China /s

  • Has this expired?

    • Looks like it, showing as $174 for 3 for me

      • Same, no discount at all

      • same

      • +8

        Try changing sellers.

Mine defaulted to Harris Tech, which gave me $174.

Changing Seller to 'Amazon AU' gave me the correct discount.

        • +1

Thanks, I would have given up on the deal without your suggestion.

        • Legend, thanks. I was able to pick this up finally, been waiting for deal on multiple cameras, came to $101.25 with Amazon AU as the seller.

          • @A 1: Did you add 3 x EU to AU power supply adapters your order?

            • @Yepseh: No, I didn't. I bought from Amazon AU so I am assuming no adaptors would be required.

The specs on the TP Link (Tapo) website state…

              Power Source
              9V DC Power Adapter
              Input Voltage
              100-240 V, 50/60 Hz
              Output Voltage
              DC9.0V/0.6A(DC Power)

So, I expect they should arrive with local compatible power supplies, although I am open to being corrected.

Normally Amamzon will state "This is an imported item which might not be compatible etc etc" if there's an issue with power supply etc.

              • @A 1: Have a gander at the reviews. Shipped from UK. Seems to be a nasty surprise for most Aussie purchasers.

                • @Yepseh: There's a couple reviews to that effect, could be isolated instances depending on what seller they bought from. At $33/each, I'll take the risk, ordered from Amazon AU, see what turns up.

Can always return if needed, or I'll use the travel adaptors I bought on clearance from Bunnings, they've been sitting in my drawer for 2 years looking for a use (in true OzBargain style).

  • I ordered 3 and for me it charged only 26 AUD.

    • How?

      • +1

I have not done anything different and I am a a prime member. I just changed the seller and added 3 units and cost came to 26 AUD and received an order confirmation email and delivery shows in May.

I tried again and now I am allowed to order only 2 items and price comes down to 81 AUD for 2.

  • +2

Comes up as $174.32 for 3 at the checkout. I don't have prime, is that the reason?

    • +1

Makes sure you select "Amazon AU" (if available) under other sellers, then the offer should apply at the last step of checkout. Props to @lowey71 for flagging it above.

  • Still in stock on back-order. Don’t know why this being marked OOS.

  • can only buy one at $45 each

  • Comes up as $174.32 for 3 at the checkout.

    • Looks like backorders are exhausted (at least for now), deal is currently OOS/Not available.

  • Which is better C201 vs C211? This is my first security camera

  • Still available, just needed to check the other sellers section

  • anyone received these can confirm if digital zoom works?

    • -1

Can confirm you will need go purchase an EU to AU power supply adapter for each unit you purchase.

      • that's odd if being sold by Amazon AU?

        • ikr. Have a gander at the reviews. Shipped from UK. Seems to be a nasty surprise for most Aussie purchasers.

      • +1

??? Just opened mine after reading this, its an AU plug in mine (at least one of mine…)

  • Anyone have thoughts or deals on c230?

    • I bought one recently. Not a fan tbh. Its image quality is either on the too warm or too cold side. Also it's much slower for remote access compared to old models. I actually prefer older models.

  • Can't get the deal to work. Switching supplier - au amazon isn't there.
