Be aware that you need a minimum of 2 hrs between using the voucher to buy duty free grog to the time of your flight departure. Also be sure to allow 30 mins+ to collect your $20 voucher once in line.
    The things you learn.

    • Thanks for this. Will take note :)

And it’s not easy to find the claim counter.

    • If you're strapped for time, get the voucher on the way there and buy the item on the way back. The shops will no longer hold liquor items for you like they used to but can store other items so if you have more transit time on the outbound flight you can just buy and store the item first so you don't have to carry it with you.
I decided exactly what I wanted on the outbound and combined five $20 vouchers (family group, nice of my kids to help me buy cognac) for a free Hennessy Cognac on the way back. It was $100 exactly. Stacking no problem.
If the item costs more than your vouchers, you pay the difference. If it costs less, you don't get change so exact is optional.
As an aside, if you want free airport Wi-Fi and you see an info counter, get a Wi-Fi pass code, one for each device, good for three hours, and better than struggling with the SMS validation that never worked for me.

And the line for the voucher can be 15-20 minutes

  • Great to see it's extended as it always is, have a work trip to Shanghai on SQ next week.

  • Oh man I was just in Singapore last week.

  • The best airport in the world gets even better! If only flights were cheap to go through it. The think they can attract people based on the airport and in my case there is an element of truth there. But Etihad and many others are often cheaper to fly to the UK,which is where a lot of my family are.

  • A great offer, which used to be better when you could redeem it for food & beverage.

was even better when you coulda use it to buy smokes. no more.

  • I went into the lounge with the voucher last week, great for free but i wouldn't pay to go in. Staff was asleep and the food selection very limited.
But like i said, for free it's a no brainer!

  • Can you get the voucher in the dead hours? IE 1am-7am?

    • Yes, i got it at 3AM last week. Staff was asleep though so i had to wake them up
