All that marketing speak and not a single word on it's specifications, warranty or model number.

    Hmmmm how about this:

Samsung External Slim USB 2.0 DVD-RW writer (8x)
$55 with no shipping charge via iiBuy.com.au

    • I'm actually looking for an external DVD drive.

In answer to your question, it seems that your Samsung doesn't do DVD-DL?
      http://www.iibuy.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_free_shi…

The Toshiba on the hand seems to do burn DVD-DL?
      http://www.i-tech.com.au/products/50035_TOSHIBA_PORTABLE_USB…

Anyhow, anyone can suggest a USB DVD writer for burning Dual Layers?

      • Don't look at the shops sites, look at the manufacturer sites.

This one for ~$36 can do DVD±R DL 6X according to the manufacturers website.

That said, the iiBut clearly says it supports DVD-R DUAL at x6. DL stands for Dual Layer.

        • Looks great but based on the manufacturer's website, no MAC OS X compatibility?

But other sites say it's ok for Mac?

          This is proving very hard.

        • As a general rule, most USB storage devices won't have any trouble on any OS built after 2002. They use pretty basic principles.

That said, I personally would prefer one with official support.

    • No, there isn't.

This is a bog standard price. It might be less than what Shopping Monster usually price it, but it's no better than the competition.

      • dse's price is $149 (rrp) :)

i don't think the specs listed above match the product. weight = 572g above. on website, weight = 370g.
