I should have posted ebay Spain last night. Got 10% ebay gift cards.

    • +3

Damn that would have been good, been waiting for another 10-15% off ebay gift cards

      • It was a flash sale between 1 and 4am AEDT. Everyone would have been sleeping.

        • +61

          Don't underestimate OzBargainers like that

        • True OzBargainers don't sleep.

        • +1

Sure sure, you just wanted to keep the bargain all to yourself!

        • I slept at 3 & woke up at 7. You should have posted that!

        • A lot of great amex offers initiate during that time

        • 1am AEDT is only 10pm Perth time…

    • Ouch, wish you did.. !

    • I've always wondered why the overseas sitewides sometimes work on gift card purchases but not the AU ones.

  • +21

    $50 max discount lol

    • +13

I dunno what's worse, the minimum spend or max discount, both laughable lol

      • Save $40, Thanks TA. Only bought double what I wanted to this time… lol

  • +45

    P10NTLESS

There is nearly a permanent 10 off these days

    • +12

Except when I need to buy something.

  • +1

    No gift cards, no deal!

  • +10

At least it includes car parts!!!

  • +24

eBay deal comments are always the same
    - complain about min spend
    - complain about max discount
    - complain about exclusions
    - complain about % too low
    - complain about eBay Plus
    - complain about price jacking (even when it makes no sense)
    - complain about eBay in general and/or praise Amazon

    • +25

A lot of these are fair complaints. The eBay sales are almost always the same format too, so would you not say it warrants the same complaints?

      • +1

eBay sales are almost always the same format

What? People have been complaining because the sales are getting worse eg. no 20% off site wiade then no 15% off site wide then the maximum discount webnt down etc.

        • By same format, I was referring to the fact that it's almost always $x min spend, $y max discount. I agree though, it's pretty unanimous that the sales are getting worse.

          • +2

@kpm: They're a business - they can do that. We don't have to buy from them. If it isn't a good deal - leave it. If enough people don't act on these sales that aren't liked, they'll soon change. They're driven by profit alone, nothing else. They balance up the whole volume vs price thing, pseudo value adding (money for nothing - ebay plus) that's their problem.

      • +1

My latest complaint is fake sellers, I've been stung twice this past month, china sellers with 200-300 positive rep suddenly go rogue and run off with your funds. Then I have to wait for paypal disputes to resolve.

Giving amazon prime a crack, kinda annoyed at the price jacking and spurious offers, just give me the best prices all the time and free shipping!

    • +3

and deal still gets a bunch of upvotes :D

      • -1

Ebay bots are hard at work upvoting 😂🤣

      • +3

I found a deal that worked for me. I saved $19.00 on an item I've been watching. I've been waiting for something like this. Thanks TA :)

    • +6

I'm filing a complaint against you because you're not complaining enough.

    • +5
      • complaints about code not working (because they try it before the promo starts)
    • All hail (less headaches) Amazon!

      • +3

When was the last time they did a sitewide 20% off?

        • Never.

          • +1

@Yummy: Why no complaints here? At least eBay does sire-wide discounts to some extent. So why the hate for them?

            • @[Deactivated]: I don't hate ebay, just less buy from em.
Thus I avoids the price jacks, min purchase limits, their usual drama craps, etc.

With Amazon, it's either cheap to buy or don't. Can't decided what to buy? Let's watch their Prime video!

              • @Yummy: Yes, that's the thing to do. If ebay lose enough business, they'll soon change. No point complaining, just don't give them your business if you're not happy.

    • -4

      Epitome of the entitled Australian.

    • I've been thankful of the reductions. I've been choosing not to buy anything and subsequently saving a motza in the process. Much less inclined to buy anything, the meagre savings just isn't worth it.

      TYVM EBay!

  • +6

Wtf is all the time with minimum spend and it's higher and higher, plus lock on Max discount :/

    • Because ebay says the more you spend the more you save.

      • More like the more you spend the more they profit

  • +2

The minimum spend is a real wet blanket

  • +1

    Pitchforks ready lol

  • +2

so its "UPTO" 10% off then… considering there is a max $50 discount. i think any ebay future deals with maximum discount should now be titled "upto X% off" because your not actually going to get 10% off in this deal if you spend over $500

    • +3

Its more like 10% off up to $500 spend. But it's another way of saying $50 maximum discount. Up to 10% would be more misleading.

  • +3

Waiting to see 3% off min 10k spend in year 2025

  • +2

minimum spend and max discount is getting more and more shit

  • +13

    150 min spend gtfo

    • +2

      BANALITY!

      • +1

Cyrax is probably getting sick of the cyrax wins mortal kombat jokes lol

        • +1

Time to change username in 3…2…1…

  • +2

    *Pointless discount

  • Shows as ending tomorrow the 23rd at 10am for me, the 10% off banner that appears on all listings is new.

    • +1

Now it says ending at 10am on the 25th.

  • +1

I was cursing last night because I pulled the trigger on buying 12% and then worked out that I'd left something out out but hey, 10% makes up for it.

And I just noticed something wierd: you know how eBay has that

"Pay only AU $180.00 [ Show me how ]"

Under the listing price to tell you about the coupon codes?

Yesterday it said spend 300 = 12% off in the bubble when I mouseovered (sorry) - expiry 22/01/19 (real expiry was 21st)

Today it says get 10% off using P10LESS - also expiry 22/01/19

    Strange.

  • +1

What no car parts exclusion ? Most be a mistake :)

  • +1

    Code should be POINTLESS

  • +4

corrected for you: "save 10% if you spend between $150-$500"

    • corrected for you too: "keep 100% of the purchase price in your pocket if you DO NOT spend between $150-$500"

      • Lose $500 but get $50.

  • -2

    Useless /pointless code

  • +2

Just tested and includes car parts, nice! Might get some tyres that I've been waiting on.

  • I've been searching for a while….a few weeks now, since Xmas, and the camping item I'm after, is already cheaper on eBay than Amazon and every other online sellers I can find, with free delivery, such as Snowys etc
Plus the 10% off code sweetens the deal even more
Brand new boxed item, why would I not purchase through eBay?
10% off storewide means it's eligible…and still beats any potential 6.5% Amazon cashback.

  • Desperate measures as they know they simply cannot compete with the efficiency of the Amazon logistics.

  • +1

Thanks TA! Needed to refill from Dan Murphy’s!

  • WD 200 positives no negs . How long lol ?

Was sure the min max neg gang aren't happy .

  • +3

With a $150 min spend the code should have been P01NTLESS.

  • When does this end?

  • +1

    ^ Expires 25/02/19 09:59 AEDST

  • someone explain to me why have 2 codes that are virtaully the same running at ehe same time,

its the first time I think

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/439017
    eBay Sitewide Spend & Save | 12% off $300+ Spend | 10% off $200+ | 7% off $120+ | Max Discount $75

    • More advertising on ozbargain

    • That one has expired now.

  • +1

Thanks for posting TA. These deals are getting worse. +1 for SITEWIDE but -1 for Max $50 discount. Ebays final value fees for sellers are so insanely high they could comfortably afford to increase discount to $500 or more…

    • The discount is basically good until $500 mark. Basically avoid ebay for big ticket items >$500 as I'm pretty sure $50 off say a $2000 TV you can get from pretty much anywhere, even Hardley Normal.

  • +1

Thanks! Used on an auction item. Worked perfectly.
