Can anyone recommend some decent speakers out of these for my TV? I bought a 40" Sanyo LCD not long ago but the sound's pretty ordinary. The TV's in a wide open space so probably no point getting more than 2 speakers. Would the Z520s be any good?
If your TV has a USB port, it could power the z-5's, they also come with an auxiliary 3.5mm stereo input port & cable for plugging in other gear besides PC's. One of my two sets is actually connected in this way & powered by my Astone media player! ;)
I can heartily recommend them; each omnidirectional speaker has it's own downfiring mini-subwoofer, and the sound is really very good, especially for USB powered speakers! Sometimes you forget there's not a dedicated sub, they can get quite a nice rumble up in some movie scenes!

How big are the speakers exactly? They seem fairly small which isn't a bad thing, as long as they sound alright. Didn't get a very good review on CNET but then again one of the main issues raised was its high pricepoint, obviously not relevant in this case :p
No probs! Each speaker is roughly 9cm square & about 26cm high!
Yep, I had a look at the Cnet review, I've actually noticed sometimes they can be a little inconsistent with their reviews, or they have unrealistic expectations of certain products. The z-5's were not gonna outperform a fully powered set; but by crikey they're mighty close; and certainly the best USB powered speakers I've ever seen! :)
Be prepared though, the remote won't work at all with anything newer than WinXP if you put them on a PC; and Logitech keep twiddling their thumbs & doing the equivalent of telling ppl to 'restart their router' to fix the problem!
Ah. I appear to have got a bit confused. I thought you were referring to the Z520s as Z5's, but just realised they are a separate product!
$75 is a bit steep to be honest, I was just looking at grabbing something cheap which would still act as a decent upgrade in audio quality.
I guess you're spending the extra dosh to get omnidirectional sound, but is there any point to this when the TV is up against a wall? Sort of defeats the purpose doesn't it. Plus I can imagine they'd look a bit out of place with their design haha.
Yeah, I wanted some USB powered speakers & just happened to get my two sets really cheap; but once I got them I realised just how good they sound for what they are!
$75 seemed a good price, most other places are usually around $99 IIRC…but hang on, I just checked staticice, IT Estate has them for $55 ATM…that's a damn good price coz if you're local you can pickup (scratch that, just read your locale); unless shipping's high! ;)
If you're ok with a power brick there's plenty of options, I don't reckon you could go wrong with either the z520 or LS21 at these prices; or if you still want USB powered you could try the v20's @ $25, that's a mighty fine price right there! :)

Just make sure you spend enough to actually get a decent upgrade over the built-in TV speakers. Going to the LS21 nearly defeats the purpose of upgrading ;)
Ahh nice find. Oh well too late, already bought the Z520s haha. I'm sure they'll do the job - hell, the X230s I paid $50 for a few years back are an improvement, so I can't see why these wouldn't be :)

Ordered a C910 as I'd been looking for a high-quality OS X-compatible webcam. Be interesting to see how it compares to the Blue Eye 2.0, which has also been available cheaply recently – at a guess, the C910 will have a better camera and a good (but not as good as the Blue Eye) microphone.
wonder if the mk710 is better than the mx5500 since its newer or?
I'm wondering the same myself. It doesn't use bluetooth, but it does have much longer battery life.
The MK710 has Incurve keys (concave) with rounded edges—maybe better for typing?
The MX 5500 has bluetooth receiver therefore longer wireless range. The mouse is probably better and comes with charging dock. A lot of features on the MX 5500 you don't really need like LCD display.
I wish the MK710 came with the mouse from the MX 5500, but overall I'd probably still go for the MK710 because of the nice keys and probably better battery life for the keyboard.
I personally prefer the MX5500 because I like the MX Revolution (with MX5500 )much more than the M705 Marathon mouse (MK710).

Hi all, long time reader of ozbargain… I made a payment via paypal and it all went fine, got confirmation emails from paypal and logitechshop (payment was confirmed taken from my account) however, after this confirmation from paypal the site took me back to logitechshop with a place order icon - i clicked on it assuming i had to confirm it again but came with a payment error.. is this just a bug and i should ignore it since order was already processed before this?

Any cancellation is done automatic , if more than 1 is ordered or details do not match , most important is that if order is cancelled , you are refunded automatically . we do our best to reply to every single email as quickly as possible .
If someone has done a multiple order does every order, by that person, of that product get cancelled or does one remain as ordered? By what numbnuts has said, it sounds like they all do. That should really be changed as both times I have used the site, Paypal has come up with an error saying the payment couldn't be processed. Luckily, I didn't try re-ordering as, after checking my e-Mail and bank account, I have seen it has gone through. However, I can imagine if people are in a hurry to order before items run out, they would try again, as Paypal suggests you do, which isn't very fair on the person if they then completely miss out because of an error in the payment system.
its only a few that it happened to considering the number of orders . We checked the error , its a paypal , error , not our webstore . we have notified paypal , and it seems due to volume . if people ordered twice , only one gets cancelled not both . As you noted its a paypal error saying try again .

It's amazing how touchy people are. By the way I received my PS3 wireless guitar… for those worried about deliveries. Ordered sunday, received yesterday afternoon. I was lucky to though, although I submitted the business name, to get it delivered at work, the delivery guy only had the address, which happens to be a corner of (no building #), whoever provided the address at logitech to the delivery company did not print/provide the business name, so this guy went to 3 different businesses asking if they were the delivery place intended, anyone could've signed for it.
I will write an e-mail to logitech- bargaincrypt pass this on, I hope I won't offend any touchy admin people.Yup. I've been completely banned from their site, for one small mistake, and several of their own. It's crazy, but that's how they roll. They find it easier to cancel orders, ban people, and eventually refund money… instead of just replying to a customer. Genius.
