  • Remember you will pay 10% for import tax + $50 GST on top of that price.

  • Pretty good price there.

Meh, so the total price will be $1680 inc. GST once imported.

Plus you are running the massive risks of importing and warranty etc - I would personally buy AUS stock for only $120 more: $1799 (pickup) from Scorptec where i could return it if DOA without extra shipping fees or delays.

agreed, Canon wont touch your camera if an import… and this is not an item that just anyone can fix if sensor needs proper cleaning or other repair required. much better to buy local for this particular item folks.

      • Actually UFO, that's not quite accurate. Canon will happily fix any imported camera. All you lose is the 1 year warranty. In other words, if the camera breaks in the first year, you'd be up for the repair cost while the locally sourced camera would be covered under warranty. After the first year both the imported and the local cameras are in the same boat, having to pay for repairs.
I have purchased an imported Canon 7D (not from shoppingsquare) and saved myself hundreds in the process. It's not as risky as it might seem, particularly at the high end of the camera market.

    Don't Pay: $3,215.00 wtf the rrp is $2399 :)

  • You dont pay GST buying from these guys. They typically put a value under 1K on the invoice. Same for all HK import businesses operating in Australia. Price you see is final.

yeah but if your package gets caught up by customs and they reckon your dodgy, you'll pay the GST and more. So you do have a risk - not sure how large that actual risk is though.

If your on custom's 'naughty' list…they will crawl up your a**e with a flashlight…which ironically is what I last imported

I absolutely hate shoppingsquares business practices. Besides, $25 discount voucher on a $1528 item? What is that, a 1.63% discount voucher?

All prices advertised for consumer goods in Australia by Australian businesses have to include GST. Illegal & misleading. Plus custom fees may have to be paid. Not to mention the "you save" price they are advertising. In addition, warranty issues if something goes wrong as it's not through Canon. Also, ridiculous discount.

    • Couldn't agree more.

Not to mention the fluctuating "shipping" costs which seem to inflate with every sale and deal.
